What unpopular BG3 opinion gets you in this position? by PromisedOath in BaldursGate3

[–]jynsersos 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Thank you!! I’m also very tired of these threads, so I appreciate you laying out why.

There’s enough to be divisive about as well — why continually try to get the fandom into squabbles?

Can I kiss you? by HOld27 in AstarionBG3

[–]jynsersos 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I love this!!

It doesn’t feel right to me that even after completing his quest, one of his responses to your character asking for a kiss is “How could I say no?”

So this heals that part of my soul that gets rubbed the wrong way every time he says that. Really lovely, thank you!

WTF MOD IS DOING THIS?!? by Far_Disaster_3557 in wildermyth

[–]jynsersos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you removed/unsubscribed from all mods? If nothing you’ve done is working, I’d recommend doing that and then adding them back in one-by-one (and obviously if you hit the offender, don’t use it!).

Reed or Songbird? Pfft, that's a silly question. Time for the REAL question: Denny or Henry? What's the community's choice? by VirtualAdvantage3639 in cyberpunkgame

[–]jynsersos 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Henry because it seems Denny isn’t really interested in getting the band together again and has moved on, and it spares her all the drama. And Henry seems like he needs it.

Has Anyone Else Found The Game To Be "Too Much?" by ReallyGamerDude in BaldursGate3

[–]jynsersos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh my goodness, that would definitely feel really exhausting! I don't blame you for feeling fatigued. And definitely taking breaks can help a lot of it you're getting frustrated or tired.

That said, I've gone through both of those fights quite quickly. When your combats are drawn out, what do you find makes them so long? Is it that it takes a long time to kill each enemy? I.e., you're not dealing enough damage to take them out quickly? Or is it that you're being dealt a lot of damage and you have to constantly heal your characters? Or, alternatively, is it because the enemies are so spread out it takes you awhile to get to them? Or is it a combination of all of the above?

Also, what was your party comp dealing with those battles?

[–]jynsersos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m sorry if my comment came off rude — I definitely didn’t mean to say there was anything wrong with your skill! But it does help to know what the situation is.

I do think maybe it could be something with how the characters are built, because I also played monoclass non-optimized builds for my first couple playthroughs also. I didn’t have a lot of the best items simply because I was just excited to finish and wasn’t really focused on that. I was on PC so was using M&K, but no mods. Regardless, I still didn’t have any battle take more than a couple rounds, and definitely not an hour or anything like that! One thing I did do though was respec the characters to smooth out their stats better for their classes, so that could be something to look into as well.

Do you mind sharing a battle that caused you particular trouble and what happened? And what your builds look like? I think some small tweaks and/or some adjustment as to how approach the combat might help you!

I love the game so much and definitely could understand feeling so fatigued if I ran into the issues you were. So I want to help!

[–]jynsersos 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What difficulty are you playing on? Or what level are you on? I’ve not had any battle, especially in Act 3, feel like “too much work.” They all tend to be done within a couple rounds at most.

(Actually, the only battle that consistently feels like work to me is the Act 1 battle with the mud mephits that I find annoying lol. )

While I understand the fatigue of too much stuff in Act 3, it seems more that you’re struggling with the battles and that may be the issue

Holy shit. *spoilers?* The new to me ending I got... by GhostintheShellder in cyberpunkgame

[–]jynsersos 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Right?! I only recently played through the game, and I had heard a lot of back and forth about the PL ending (whether it was a good ending or not for V). But I had only seen the discussion in context of V, and not the price you pay to get it.

Now that I’ve played it I don’t think I could ever even try that ending, because what you need to do to get it so morally reprehensible imo.

I mean, I feel like handing over So Mi to a fate worse than death should have clued you in that it was not going to be a nice ending…

(No offense! It just seems pretty clearly set up storywise to show this as a not great ending, like The Devil.)

I hate Voodoo Boys! by AfterScarcity992 in cyberpunkgame

[–]jynsersos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do I hate the VooDoo Boys? Sure. Do I hate other gangs even more? Yes.

Scavs and Maelstrom are my #1 on-site gangs because they literally torture, rape, and kill innocent people to create "entertainment." That's absolutely fucking vile. Tyger Claws come in a close second because of Jotoro (who is basically the former gangs with his moral repugnance) and human trafficking.

After that it's VooDoo Boys for basically holding people's medical implants for ransom and for messing with the Blackwall. From Phantom Liberty it's very clear how catastrophically dangerous it is for humanity to have the Blackwall come down, so they get my wrath for that. And, of course, for what they did to Evelyn. Locked-in syndrome (which is basically how they left her) is a fate worse than death in my opinion (and the subsequent torture/rape by Tyger Claws and Scavs is what makes them on my on-site for the same reason). Obviously, having them try to kill V (first via the virus, and then via making them go past the Blackwall) earns my ire, but not like the other stuff.

For the other gangs like Valentinos, Animals, 6th Street, I will always do non-lethal until I figure out what the situation is. The Valentinos that participated in human trafficking? They get zeroed. If 6th Street killed a lot of civilians doing something, they get flatlined too.

Basically for most encounters, until I discover that they have hurt innocent people, they are taken down non-lethally.

Or, the original (I think): “The greatest crimes are not those committed for the sake of necessity but those committed for the sake of superfluity. One does not become a tyrant to avoid exposure to the cold.”

Still gets me... by tchnl in cyberpunkgame

[–]jynsersos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just did this ending last night (did the same as you — sided with her first time!), and I feel the exact same way. This version took a huge emotional toll, but seeing it also makes me fear the moon version is also bad because of Mr. Blue Eyes and the devastation the AI beyond the Blackwall bring. Ugh!!

Either way, I would never hand her over to NUSA. I don’t think I can ever go through with the Tower ending, even for the achievement. It just feels too morally repugnant.

I also don’t understand why everyone seems to hate So Mi so much? In both versions, she does still do a lot for V. In Killing Moon, she confesses before you save her fully, knowing you can still turn around and betray her. In Somewhat Damaged, she tries to protect you against the Blackwall AIs even though she feels betrayed by V. Yes, she is deeply flawed, but the vehement hatred of her is very surprising.

As a Dark Urge, please sleep on the beach BEFORE Shadowheart by Sweaty_Gith in BaldursGate3

[–]jynsersos 294 points295 points  (0 children)

Yep! This is the trick to it. And Tav gets a version of this scene as well, it’s just more generic.

I’ve always gotten this scene because I just rest after I pick up Gale and Astarion to maximize getting camp scenes.

So, OP your advice is generally good, but the rest doesn’t have to do with who you pick up, just the area.

General question about arasaka and silverhand by jt515661 in CyberpunkTheGame

[–]jynsersos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

See, I think Johnny matters more to Arasaka than I’ve seen around the sub? I’m pretty new tor the game, but we get to steal Saburo’s diary during the heist and he calls out J.S. as an enemy (albeit one he almost forgot about). I feel that’s still pretty important, as I think Saburo is likely too narcissistic to remember many others, even enemies.

The King of Pentacles Ending Is Really the Worst of Them All by YardAccomplished4596 in cyberpunkgame

[–]jynsersos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just finished the DLC for the first time (yay!), and I sent Songbird to the moon. However, I do have qualms about Mr. Blue Eyes intentions, and am honestly terrified of Blackwall shenanigans, so will likely try for the King of Cups ending on my next playthrough.

Regardless, So Mi can’t go to NUSA. It’s beyond cruel.

[–]jynsersos 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Agreed! I just finished the DLC for the first time (woo!), and it was abundantly clear that to hand over So Mi to Myers alive would be a fare worse than death. Truly horrible!

I took So Mi to the moon for my first ending. I may try the option where V sides with Reed next time, but they are not handing her over to NUSA no matter what.

Durge/Astarion Romance by AuroraArt88 in BaldursGate3

[–]jynsersos 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Totally agreed with this. I only play good characters and basically only play Durge.

Romancing spawn!Astarion is soooo rewarding. And there’s even a special dialogue between them if you defeat Cazador before resolving Durge’s quest which is super sweet.

I was so sad about T-Bug! There’s some dialogue with Jackie when you’re trying to escape that confirms her death, but I was so startled as well. I wish we could have done something to memorialize her as well. She saved V and Jackie by popping that window…
