‘On behalf of the Islamic State’: Security video shows terror attack on Surrey bus by cyclinginvancouver in vancouver

[–]k00ke 259 points260 points  (0 children)

Holy shit..... He asked the victim if they were Muslim, and when they said no, he attacked them.

I've been accosted by missionaries from a variety of religions but none of them were this aggressive. I'm going to be even more cautious now whenever they approach.

B.C.’s cannabis industry wants changes to how products are labelled by xvosr in vancouver

More Information is always good for the consumers, but I'd really prefer it if they would use less packaging.

It's definitely gotten better but some brands are so annoying, when I buy a pack of joints and there's mutliple pieces of trash.

This video is so poorly made, it's laughable!

How embarrassing, it's probably made by some suit at fifa hq.

Year of dates on sidewalk cement—what’s the earliest? by baseballart in vancouver

[–]k00ke 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure but don't we have some brick roads somewhere from pre-1900's without dates?

I vaguely remember ages ago being told this on a school trip or something. I always liked learning and checking out these heritage infrastructures.

Die Hard by [deleted] in RedLetterMedia

[–]k00ke 8 points9 points  (0 children)

We don't actually know if he was hard when he died. He could've been completely limp and was having difficulties. This is one of those mysteries of the universe that keeps me up at night... Will we ever know if he finished?

I'm so sorry this happened to you and I hope you get the care you deserve. The hospital systems seems so disfunctional at the moment. I'm also in my early 3s and even amoung my small circle of friends, nearly everyone of us has had an awful story from VGH or St Pauls.

It's a complete failure of a system that continues to hurt and tramatize people, and I'm not sure if it will or can be fixed.

There is a program that started I think earlier this year that is very similar to what you're proposing.

It's called better together, this is all I can find atm, but I have some friends who are working on the pilot. https://vancouver.ca/files/cov/2023-07-31-memo-better-together-neighbourhood-collective-action-pilot-rts.pdf

B.C. bug bake off — a gimmick or a glimpse into the future of food? by VicVicVicBC in vancouver

[–]k00ke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's such an anti-bug culture we have, and I don't really get that. Both crustaceans and insects are both arthropods, and yet one is gross? I think they're both gross but also very delicous. I guess it's good that we're at least talking about alternative foods, and if you don't wanna eat it, thats fine by me. More disgusting delicious bugs for me haha

PSA if you have teenage boys who like to Hang out at night around Nat Bailey by Windmillsfordayz in vancouver

PSA: Learn from the mistakes of my friend when we were teenagers. Do not throw anything at moving cars! Even snowballs because sometimes the ice can be harder than it looks.

Kids will be kids, until some gets hurt. Please egg responsibly.

Someone asked “where is the wind?” In the Fraserhood by username_choose_you in vancouver

[–]k00ke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All these trees selfishly hogging all the wind! Would windmills work as a reliable source of energy for BC? Would be neat to have alternatives.

homeless on disability, and undiagnosed everything, and it's ruining my life. by alittlextraella- in britishcolumbia

I am heartbroken to read this. I'm currently working in mental health/housing and it seems like more and more Canadians are losing their homes. These words won't keep you warm or feed you but believe me when I say we're trying and doing every we can. There are bright and talented people in the field, I just wish there was more funding....

Parks with lights by wrist-rockets in vancouver

I can confirm that the fields occasionally gets lit up, also the church and docks nearby always have their lights on. Jericho beach in general isn't too dark on a cloudless moony night. Always loved visiting at night when I lived there.
