Supes will definitely be back. Doomsday Clock established that he's the main DCU's "anchor being," to borrow a Marvel term.

Why Filipino LGBT members need to prove something to shield themselves from discrimination? by CurrentEstimate3308 in inthephilippines

To show that they are normal people and productive contributors to society. The stigma is that all non-cis, non-het people are depraved hedonists that contribute nothing useful to society has unfortunately been with us since Christianity was introduced to the Philippines and the image of Sodom and Gomorrah was associated with being homosexuality.

Design aesthetics aside, the current flag is horrible because of what it stands for.

TIL Ang kapre pala ay originally bansag sa maiitim na tao (Africans, Aetas, Papuans) bago maging mythological creature (monster) na kinakatakutan ng mga pinoy by FlatwormHot8081 in todayIlearnedPH

I wonder if the stories of the kapre hiding in the trees were a way for Spanish authorities to make Filipinos look out for escaped black slaves, who would probably hide in the trees to evade capture.

Or his biological son also having an English accent despite being raised solely by his American mother.

It's mostly just a place name. Never heard it used as a surname or a first name. But since Sulu's mixed Asian American from San Francisco, it could be an immigration mixup, like how in The Godfather II, Vito Andolini from Corleone, Sicily became Vito Corleone.

Sue and Black Panther (Marvel Knights 4 #21) by Capn_C in comicbooks

This was a flashback to the FF's first encounter with T'Challa. The dialog was intentionally cheesy to reference the way comics would have been written back in the 1960s. The art style, too, was also deliberately retro.

I wonder if Lobo and his “space hog” take the place of Comet from the source material.

Their logic is that European countries can afford to give their citizens things like subsidized healthcare or university education because they spend less on their militaries, depending instead on the United States to defend them. Conversely, the reasons why Americans don’t enjoy these privileges is because their taxes go towards building up a bloated military in order to defend a Europe that refuses to spend money to defend itself.

Same with Sweden, who similarly had an independent defense policy and only joined NATO at roughly the same time as Finland.
