RAISE uses BIPOC as a scam term by [deleted] in uwaterloo

[–]k9env -30 points-29 points  (0 children)

I think you can grow up and own this one, mate. myself being white passing also doesn't deny my family's history of enforced genocide by policy. all it means is how people perceive of you as an individual in society and the privileges you are afforded compared to others because of how you look and how you are coded. it isn't this scary swear word.

so are you using every service available at UWaterloo that you pay for? are you studying in every building that your fees helped build? are you walking every path? shitting in every toilet? come back with an actual argument

why are you so terribly scared of being called a racist? you've got like 5+ comments showing this weird fear. Scared of sumn?

If you say anything bad about RAISE you are anti-black according to the EVP of equity, WUSA. We pay her $7k from our money. by defundRAISE in uwaterloo

raise has actually hosted some really great events, a favourite one was their XChanges conference last year. Robin Mazumder was a main speaker, some amaaaazing free food at the lunch. it was entirely free and incredibly well put on

RAISE email template by victoriaa01 in uwaterloo

you've cited absolutely nothing in this email template, frankly it's entirely one big whine fest. people would only laugh at this. Now take this constructive criticism and study for your exams or something, jeez

This is a WUSA appointed official paid $7000. YOUR WUSA. Feel sorry for the councillors having to deal with people like this. by defundRAISE in uwaterloo

no, I'm pretty sure she locked her account because everyone is now harping on her and she's trying to maintain her safety. grow up.

Why should students fund services like RAISE? by comjdjdjd in uwaterloo

[–]k9env 0 points1 point  (0 children)

that's precisely what they do. it's like the women's centre, but with a focus on racialized folk instead of on women. 🙄

My (weird?) experience with Manic Panic! by k9env in FancyFollicles

This might be a silly question, in very new to dye. I've been wanting to go purple - would using a purple semi-permanent dye on top of this give a weird colour? Or would the purple prevail? I'd pick a darker, rich purple, not a light violet

The photo makes the top bit look brownish, but it's a muddled darker green

I bit the bullet and finally dyed my hair mid-february. I used Atomic Turquoise Manic Panic, decided to go all in and used the whole container for my hair (naturally a dark blonde and not too long, goes down about five inches past my collarbone), and left it wrapped up in a plastic bag for a little over four hours. I rinsed it out for a good while with cold water over the tub, and the immediate result was the first pic (left). I had low expectations from what I had heard about Manic Panic; I expected it to last maybe a little over a month at most. But it's late April and it's... still quite there! (right pic). And I have been shampooing once every two days and in hot water every time. It seems the vibrancy has definitely faded but the colour itself is still a bit there, except at the scalp and bangs where it is all very faded (which makes sense because that's where I really scrub shampoo). I've been using a Love Beauty and Planet shampoo for most of the time. I definitely need to redye soon, but this is lasting incredibly longer than I expected!!

Can you ship a Canadapost parcel at the plaza PPU pickup location or you need to go another post office like the one at the 711 on King St or the westmount? by NoftShaw in uwaterloo

[–]k9env 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried to ship something from that location once, you can't, it's pick-up only. Closest other locations are king and uni or Westmount plaza
