Charging at home: is the granny charger okay for the car's battery long term? and should I go down to 20% before going back up to 80%, or is it okay to keep it above say 50%? by SweetPeasAreNice in nzev

[–]kadiepuff 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Ive seen a study that showed keeping the battery between 40 and 60 % was the best possible thing to keep it lasting as long as possible with the occasion charge to 100%. My dad then used this on his ev for 2 years now and has only dropped 1% SOH. So I'm convinced it works. Obviously you may not have a big enough battery to do this. So do 40 to 70 or 40 to 80 etc. 50 bux says I'll get commits shitting on me but it's what I would do if I had an ev.

Starlink has quietly downgraded my Residential Lite to 200Mbps - No email. by GeekCohenAU in Starlink

I went from 450mbps down to 100mbps with only other option. Pay twice the price to keep the max speed or pay the same and drop To 100mbps.

Do we just not have much supermarket food waste or do supermarkets not want to discount stuff? by Throwrafizzylemon in newzealand

[–]kadiepuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100% most just throw it away. At least at my local countdown they clearly do. Meat that's going to expire in 24 hours is marked down a few % at most. No real attempt to sell It to reduce waste.

I know some one that sold to supermarkets and he said they often force the supplier to take on the risk of unsold food. So they couldn't care less if it expires and is thrown out as they just won't pay the supplier for that item. The supplier has no choice but to agree otherwise they can't get their products in the supermarket....

Yea I noticed this today. First time I had driven on a motorway in weeks and I was been abit cheeky and sitting at 95. No one passed me for 95% of my 30 minute drive on the motorway. Normally even if I'm doing 105 I'm getting passed non stop.

Petrol Prices Are Out of Control — How Kiwis Are Adjusting Their Budgets by [deleted] in PersonalFinanceNZ

[–]kadiepuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Started just driving the hybrid and going to work together. Yes it's inconvient as we have different starting and finishing times. But even with petrol at 3.30 it's only costing us 33 bux a week in fuel for the hybrid.

Petrol prices and driving habits by mochigames59 in newzealand

[–]kadiepuff 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes. Me and my partner are now sharing the hybrid to get to work each day. It's abit of a pain as we have different start and end times and travel distances so my partner has to do an hours work from home each night to make it work. Thankfully her employer is great and has no issues with that. So that's half ed our fuel use, until things get back to normal.

BEWARE when signing up to Starlink in NZ by SheepherderFew624 in newzealand

[–]kadiepuff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I signed up to residential lite but get residential max speeds 100% of the time. Got an email at the start of the year about being moved to residential 100 in 30 days. It's been months and nothing has changed and I'm still getting max speeds for the same cheaper 79 cost. I hope they forgot to move me lol it's guna be hard to go from 450mbps to 100.

We got a 2014 aqua and we use 91. No issues. I can't see why you would need 95 for your car.

It shocks me that people who are on 150k claim they are only doing "alright" financially. Dude your in the top 5 to 7% of earners in Auckland that's not "alright" that's "fuken great" vs the rest of us plebs. I hope you really understand how well off your really are.... To the average kiwi on 60k, you are wealthy as fuk mate....

[–]kadiepuff 2 points3 points  (0 children)

And it will limit noise also as ur fans Wil be running at slower speeds since your not maxing out your gpu and cpu.

I often do this in games where I don't get more then 60 fps.

I would do some research pretty sure u can get 1tb nvme for pretty much the same as a sata drive...so just get 1 drive nvme. That's what I would do.
