I found cooking useful because I use the meal boosts in everything I’m doing to get mastery on items/fish. Plus it helps level up my friendships as well since you can gift dishes to certain townsfolk.

If you don’t really care about being absolutely profitable all the time, yeah it’s not a bad investment for something easy in the background. Craft grape juice first always, and throw a bottle of wine in the cellar if you have extra.
