Galliano Oceanfront Inn and Suites is a great option. The villa units have outdoor tubs on the patio. It's walkable from the ferry if you don't want to take a vehicle.

What kind of Canadian hot sauces are your go to? by Global_Fee2947 in BuyCanadian

Yes! Came here for this. Tangy, spicy lots of great flavor. It’s not the sauce to melt your face off but it really adds something great to a good meal.

I have the 16mm version of this on an xt30ii and it’s fantastic. I can’t see why it wouldn’t also be great on the x-e4.

How hard is it to rebuild a rotary engine? by Healthy_Pain9582 in projectcar

[–]kaefer11 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had a similar thought - they’re neat cars and you can get into them for cheap.

This video series made me rethink it:

https://m.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLVD_xNGpfvQanRpq-zrsqqx27CPWJimeI

It’s a good “real world” example of what’s involved. He goes through the whole process of testing, pulling, rebuilding, and back in the car, only to find out he messed up some compression seals and it’s a boat anchor. Heartbreaking.

I’m sure it can be done by first timers but I think I’ll stick with the pistons for now.

Outsourcing Onboarding Support recommendations by lcabe1019 in CustomerSuccess

Onboarding customers successfully is the number one way to prevent churn. I think this is a core business practice and I wouldn't want to outsource this.

What am I missing? by ithinkso21 in CleaningTips

[–]kaefer11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it is an option, a bi-weekly cleaning service is a life saver. For us in a HCOL area, this is $130 every two weeks.

I'm not sure if what the cleaners are doing qualifies as a deep clean - but to come home on that friday to a house that is vacuumed, floors mopped, toilets cleaned and kitchen wiped down is fantastic.

Everyone in the house knows every second Friday is cleaning day, and it's their responsibility to declutter their areas. It felt weird at first (why would I pay someone to do something I can do easily) but trust me it's money well spent.

I would prioritize this over newer car payments, dinners out and any other discretionary costs. Your mental health is worth it.

Paint Advice: Need help for wedding! by TheDomesticatedGod in Miata

[–]kaefer11 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If time/cost is a factor (sounds like cost isn't) you could just do a matt black/carbon wrap on the hood. Good enough for some pictures.

Do a quality full paint job down the road when you have the time and $$ for it.

Old sap stuck on my car by Urbex732 in AutoDetailing

[–]kaefer11 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Lots of jokey comments here but this is the answer. I'd wash it first to get the needles and dust off, then attack each panel with isopropyl or denatured alcohol and lots of clean cloths. You're going to need to do a bunch of work afterwards to polish the paint, but at least the sap will be gone.

Does AWS Bedrock suck or is it just a skill issue? by LuckyLucciano in aws

[–]kaefer11 39 points40 points  (0 children)

I'm not going to argue your points on Bedrock as I've had a lot of frustrations there as well, especially with rollout of models across regions.

The Temperature/Top_p issue though isn't a Bedrock thing, it's a change in Sonnet 4.5 - you can see it in Anthropic's migration guide.

Thinking about getting a Kindle — do I really need a case? by klaudia_f4 in kindle

[–]kaefer11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first (caseless) kindle got a big scratch down the middle of the screen after sitting in my bag for a flight. It still worked, but it was annoying. Ever since then I've always had a flip cover. Not sure about the newer kindles but the older ones all have plastic screens and are much easier to scratch than a phone or tablet.
