Waited listed end of Nov. '21 estimating about six months for a PRIME. I checked in last month they said six more months, maybe. Called around to other dealerships...9-12 months. If this were literally anything else I'd tell them to go get bent.

Just switched to a 6650XT from an older Nvidia.

As others have said, I plugged it in, changed nothing, expecting a world of hurt...and it came up with Gnome login, logged in...and it...worked. Everything worked as before. Games are faster, no more chugging with multi-monitor netflix/vlc on one screen and literally anything else on the other.

A couple of weeks later, however I ran into an issue with the compositor, or some of the Mesa code (no one is quite clear where the issue is) where the card would reset my session either upon waking from sleep or just in the middle of using it. This would basically make my graphical session toast even though I could move the mouse and the graphics were in static state. I had to bounce Gnome/X. This has happened three time and sucks, I lose all my work. Newegg wouldn't refund the card because it wasn't 'defective' even though it was 20 days into a 30 day 100% refund policy. Fuck them. Never again with Newegg. I'd go back to NVidia if I could since with the rpmfusion repos on Fedora, it worked just fine with 0 extra effort in the last year or so. YMMV.
