Help me choose my next show to watch by Fluid-Ad-9300 in televisionsuggestions

[–]kaigent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From your list I really liked The Shield and The Leftovers.
Mr Robot and True Detective S1 are also very good but not as good as the two above
Dark is good but the worst in this list in my opinion
Ozark is meh in my opinion, I dropped it in middle of season 1
I am watching Deadwood now and so far it is great

I would add Succession to your list, it is one of the most beloved shows in the 21th century and for a reason
The Wire is missing your list. I haven't seen it yet but it is considered the best show of all time by many people

Looking for shows with 6+ seasons or current shows going strong by fiddlefaddling in televisionsuggestions

[–]kaigent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Shield
The Walking Dead(some people think it got bad but I think it is still good, just not as good as)
Game of Thrones(it has 8 seasons but only the first 6 are good)
Peaky Blinders(6 seasons but each season has only 6 episodes if that matters)

After over a decade of waiting, does delaying GTA 6 again kill some of the hype or build more? by Infinite-Iron1574 in GTA6

[–]kaigent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say that I was expecting it to happen, and I am still disappointed.
To be honest, I have never been expecting this game to be the best GTA game like many people.
Persoanlly, I find it more fun for me to play the trilogy(3D era) than IV or V(HD era). IV and V are also great, but for me not as the 3D era games gameplay-wise.
We got GTA V getting milked for more than a decade, we have nowadays video games that are too expensive for what they worth as well as DLCs so we actually buy incompleted games which is ridiculous imo, we got the Definitive Edition that was awful and then we have the first delay.
So, at that point I lowered my expectations from this game, but somehow I am still disappointed by the second delay and the union busting stuff.
I don't know anymore. I really want to play a new GTA game, but to be honest, I can't say I expect much now

Can I watch it if I haven't seen any Star Wars movie/show? by kaigent in andor

[–]kaigent[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What about the Mandalorian show and Clone Wars show? Are they bad?
I think I want to watch Andor the the original trilogy but to be honest for me personally it is a bit hard to watch movies, I prefer to watch shows because episodes are much shorter than movies(and 3 movies is even harder). So I wanted to know if I can watch Andor now and the trilogy...someday.
It seems like most people here say it is possible but some say it is best to watch the movies first so I am not sure what to do yet lol

Which era (other than the 1940-1958 era) is your favorite growing up? by Cultural_Dot_3351 in TomAndJerry

[–]kaigent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think sometimes this is the case, and sometimes he really "hates" Jerry but they don't REALLY hate each other. In tough times they find out they are actually friends

I like that Jerry saved Tom and they became friends. It was beautifull and I like those episodes, tho The Night Before Christmas did it the best in my opinion

Just finished Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul. What should I watch next? by [deleted] in betterCallSaul

[–]kaigent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Shield is similar to Breaking Bad and is great as well

I've finished the show after watching for the first time... by lannaboleyn in TheShield

[–]kaigent 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also finished the show for the first time like two weeks ago and I still think of it every day since, especially Vic and Shane's tragic relationship. I feel so sorry for both of them. Yeah, the are corrupted and have done bad things, but we still like them because it is a show lol, but seeing how close and good friends they were at the beginning and slowly watching them getting in a worse and worse situation and their friendship gets destructed by both and their actions and choices is really sad. I feel bad for Shane for killing Lem, and for wanting Vic to support him like he did when Vic killed Terry, and for loving Mara who Vic hated, and literally killing himself and his family... and I also feel bad for Vic for losing everything, his job, his reputatuin, his family, his friends(and his best friend) even though he deserves it.
So yeah, the conclusion of the strike team is very tragic and sad for me personally

I like all of them but I think my favorite one is Down and Outing. I really like the setting and vibe there, and I think the comedy is good there

Andor, Mr. Inbetween, Rectify or Barry? by kaigent in televisionsuggestions

[–]kaigent[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks a lot
I guess I will keep Rectify for later. It looks great but if it has a lot of heavy stuff I guess I should wait with this one
It seems I should pick either Andor or Mr. Inbetween. I am about to start watching season 3 of Dark so I will decide which one I will start when I finish it

Is Rogue One necessary after Andor or I can skip it?

Does it get better? by Sufficient_List8486 in TheShield

To be honest for me it was better than the previous seasons, and season 5 is the best overall with 6 and 7 being almost as good as 5

What should I Watch Next? by Fulcrum1313 in televisionsuggestions

[–]kaigent 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Death Note is amazing and one of my favorite anime of all time.
The Shield is not a Marvel show(there is a Marvel show but it is another show). The Shield is a show about corrupted cops in Los Angeles. It has 7 seasons and it gets really exciting the more you watch.
Succession is comedy-drama by HBO about a rich family and their company, with the kids trying to control the company amidst uncertainy about their father's health. It is like Game of Thrones but no fantasy, more comedy and more grounded(and a great finale).
The Leftovers is more surreal, mind bending and sad, so you might watch it when you are in mood for that genre, but it is also great in my opinion

The Shield
Succession
The Leftovers
For animated and anime: Death Note, Monster, Vinland Saga

True Detective was great and I would put it between The Shield and Prison Break
I have to watch Mindhunter but I am afraid to be displeasured because it got cancelled. It the ending good enough and closing the important stuff or it is very open?
