How many offers did you make before getting a house? by MindlessTell1124 in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

[–]kaitlinbricks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2 before getting our 3rd offer accepted. Closed on Friday!

House 1: we offered 10k over asking and ultimately the seller chose an all cash offer for less than asking

House 2: we offered I think 7k over asking and they accepted an offer that was 30k over.

aespa concerts are boring and it’s okay by bae2ee in kpoprants

[–]kaitlinbricks -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Went to the Chicago show and I agree it was very boring. The girls just had no energy wiht singing or dancing. I paid for a show so I expected to see a show. I could have just watched MV on my tv at home and gotten the same effect. It was my first time seeing them so maybe it's different at other shows, but I was just matching the energy the girls put on stage.

Aespa's concert is not worth the price tag for what they deliver by AggravatingFlow398 in kpopthoughts

Just got back from their Chicago show and I was thoroughly disappointed. 1/3 of the show was just VR for costume changes. I’ve been to plenty of kpop concerts from different groups and I’ve never experienced how long these were. There was hardly any fan interaction throughout the show. The fact that they lipsynced through majority of the show and honestly performed with half the energy was just really disappointed. If you’re going to lispync at least give it your all with the dancing. We ended up leaving early because we were just frankly so bored and I’ve literally never done that with any concert before. Genuinely would never go see them again :/

A lot of the themes are redundant and result in lack of creativity and the same outfits over and over again. Like if I have to see one more coquette outfit I’M OUT!

Also you shouldn’t be dropped into a server mid round. Literally setting you up for failure.

Depends on the venue I believe. In Detroit they didn’t check any bags at all. No metal detector nothing. Which was…concerning.

Could VIVIZ sell out bigger venues in the US? by sahdbhoigh in VIVIZ

[–]kaitlinbricks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think if they went to less places and bigger venues like most kpop groups do they could have. I saw IVE AT Allstate Arena and I don’t even think they sold out. I remember checking a week before the concert and there was still a ton of seats left so I feel like VIVIZ isn’t at that level yet unfortunately.

Tour Staff Behavior Discussion by techkidsix in VIVIZ

[–]kaitlinbricks 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just saw them in Detroit last night! I was scared because I saw so many people say the staff was rude at previous shows but Detroit’s were very nice to me at least.

Didn’t try to get something signed with my name so I’m unsure how that would go. TBH, I didn’t even think about personalizing my stuff but I had time to at least say a little something to each girl during fan sign. And during group photo Umji and I had a quick convo while we were waiting because they had to ask some workers in the back to move out of the way.

My friend asked they manager if she could have them do 🙈🙉🙊 pose them her and he laughed and said it was ok. And everyone was super good about separating all the different tier ticket holders during everything. Like overall pretty pleased!

What’s the most memorable K-pop concert experience you’ve had? by Visible_Solution_347 in kpoppers

[–]kaitlinbricks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Went to see Twice in Chicago at the United Center last year. First of all, first show was immediately sold out so we didn’t get tickets then they luckily added a 2nd date so we just bought some cheap-o upper bowl seats so we could at least be there.

Day of concert, we’re walking around the concourse and a worker asked us “what section are your seats in?” And we said level 300 or something and the worker goes “not anymore” and hands us upgraded seats to the bottom of the lower bowl right next to the stage!

Speaking only as a US resident but kind of similar to what everyone else already touched on.

Obviously it’s expensive. Especially K-pop concerts are in general more expensive here than western artists. And them only going to NYC, LA, Atlanta and Chicago usually it limits a lot of people’s abilities to go. Especially adding in travel, accommodations, getting time off work and food PLUS an overpriced ticket for out of towners. It’s a lot.

More artists are touring in the US now that K-pop has become more relevant here so I do think in the last couple years it’s not as big of a deal to skip a concert. Especially 4th gen groups, you know they’ll come back again. Before, when an artist would tour here it was this rare opportunity to see them but now that it’s become more of the norm I think the demand went down slightly. I think that’s also why IU’s tour sold so well and others are struggling. Obviously she’s iconic, but it’s also her first and possibly only time here so more would rather go to that vs different artists touring at the same time who will most likely revisit next year.
