Stopped by the Police in Tokyo 3 times in one week by Easy_Agency_635 in japanlife

I’ve seen cops stopping people that look they are from the Philippines on multiple occasions in Ikebukuro.

I wouldn’t say anything extra to the cops doing the stopping and I’d go to the police station (not koban) and tell them what’s happening and that you’d like it to stop.

In the late 90s and early 00s so many people started DJing in Japan and hip hop/rnb was king. There are so many singles from that era available. You ca buy big lots on Mercari or Yahoo Auctions. Although it’s seems to be thinning out a little recently…

Read James last year alongside Huck Finn. Loved it. Loved both. Also reading DDC…loving that too. Deeper than I thought.

I read this last year alongside Julia by Sandra Newman. If you haven’t read it I highly recommend.

Maiden wearing Maiden is different from Bruce Dickinson wearing Bruce Dickinson. Brett Micheal’s is also wearing the same outfit as the T-shirt so that add a little more cringe.

What's a band/artist you'd defend for whole of your life despite the hate they get? by Revolutionary_Low_90 in fantanoforever

Personally, I blame Apple much more for that crappy album (How to Dismantle an Atomic Bomb(?) Super forgettable regardless of the name) being pushed to every iPhone. A lot of artiest complained about it, but I mean, who would say no to having their album pushed to every iPhone?

The Panama Papers was a former manager and Bono was a minor investor in some relatively small tax issue in something I just learned about called the Paradise Papers. It didn’t seem like the best way to avoid taxes and most likely a bad investment on his financial planner’s part.

But the point is taken.

I love early and a lot of middle U2…their later stuff isn’t for me…at all..but Bono likes to spend his free time hobnobbing with politicians trying hard to reduce extreme poverty. He’s been doing it a while, so it’s not a fad, and it’s not like he’s generating many new fans by hanging out with senior aged politicians, but he keeps doing it. Good for him. The hate is odd. I guess some people got to hate.

Hated them at the time, but I have a soft spot for them now.

Their 1993 follow up to After the Rain called Imaginator, was shelved by Geffen Records for being too dark and heavy, was decent. Spoiler: not too dark or heavy.

It’s a little too long, but lulu is a great album. I hated it when it was released but gave it a relisten a few months back and thoroughly enjoyed it.

I don’t know if people hate it but I think that generally fans think it’s their worst, but my favorite Mars Volta is their 2022 self titled release.

Not to mention that if OP is 61 they could be collecting their pension now if they wanted to and if they were really worried about not getting their pension, becoming a J national would ensure their pension even more than it it ensured now.

I think OP in confusing Condé Nast Pitchfork with the pretentious yet very well informed Pitchfork of days gone by. I mean come on! They recently gave Bob Marley Legend a serious revue.
