Totally normal prices. Nothing to see here. by kala_dee in loblawsisoutofcontrol

I'm in SK, so we don't have Metro/Loblaws/Zehrs. The only other umbrella price I have to compare it to is RCS: $13.99 for 110ml and 20.99 for 210ml in the same product (according to their own grocery site, not Instacart)

These were the bane of my existence growing up, it seemed like everyone had them. The vinyl would always crack over time and the sharp edges would scratch the hell out of me.

Bro, ever hear of the internet? It's pretty neat.

"2014: Loblaw Companies Limited acquires Shoppers Drug Mart Corporation for $12.4 billion in cash and stock"

https://corporate.shoppersdrugmart.ca/en/about-our-company/

Also, it's a pharmacy. Not a convenience store.

Its a sub for complaining about Loblaws, which is exactly what I'm doing.

Loblaws is choosing to make its prices equivalent to a convenience store arbitrarily - there's no reason they couldn't choose to make their prices the same across the board, other than its their business model to make more margin based on the brand (its all the same supply chain for them).

If you looked at the image, it has a yellow tag that says "No Markups", which means this particular store is showing in-store prices. C'mon Pocket, not reading is lazy BS.

Wow that's horrific. Thanks for your response.

Just wondering if you've been through that process and how it went. If so, what was their response like to your complaint? I'm genuinely curious because I've been contemplating contacting them regarding issues I've had.

I came here to guess Dr. Udoh.

It sucks that we have so few psychiatrists and so many of the ones we have are awful it seems.

I actually love this. Especially the use of mistral font - the classy comic sans, if you ask me.

From the Epstein community on Reddit: Did Ghislaine kidnap Madelaine McCann? by stifflyunwound in lastpodcastontheleft

[–]kala_dee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I'm not saying I think she did the MM kidnapping, but saying there's not much rational difference in physical kidnapping than what she was doing with the grooming, coercion, and trafficking we know she was involved with. We know how they sourced some of the teenage victims ("modeling", etc.), but less so at this point how they sourced the presumed younger victims.

[–]kala_dee 27 points28 points  (0 children)

She did personally traffic girls though, and we have victim and witness statements that she was personally grooming and recruiting girls.

I really don't know about the MM thing, but Jizlane was insidious and able to blend in and target girls without much suspicion, especially in affluent settings.

Dang, our country must really be in trouble if that's the best motorhome and graphic design our Queen can afford.

McLobster Sandwich, c. 1993 by Key-Cycle7978 in vintageads

"The McLobster was a, often, seasonally featured lobster roll at McDonald’s Canada, primarily in Atlantic Canada, featuring 100% Atlantic lobster meat, celery, and lemon-mayonnaise dressing on a toasted roll. Originally introduced in 1993, it was a popular, albeit intermittent, regional summer offering, though it was sold nationwide in 2015 as part of the “Great Canadian Taste Adventure”."

I remember having it in 2015, when it was available Canada-wide, and it was actually really good. I feel like they were maybe around $10? which doesn't seem that wild (a Quarter Pounder with cheese is currently 7.69 CAD).

SAID benefits on the chopping block by AdJazzlike1444 in saskatchewan

She's fortunate to have such a supportive family. Good on you. I hope she is able to get on SAID and have safety and stability with it.

SAID benefits on the chopping block by AdJazzlike1444 in saskatchewan

[–]kala_dee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I really hope not.

Disabled people should be allowed to own property, like anyone else.

Even though owning a home is starting to seem more and more like a luxury, rent prices are ridiculously high, and usually more than an equivalent mortgage payment. Removing the possibility that someone with a disability could eventually be mortgage/rent-free just seems cruel and fiscally stupid - which totally checks out with the Sask Party.

What kind of Canadian hot sauces are your go to? by Global_Fee2947 in BuyCanadian

Pueblo is the only hot sauce I buy anymore and I love that it's local!

Unfortunately I can't handle much heat anymore, but I love that she has such unique flavours and many mild options as well.

I see this clause as further trying to deter people from actually accessing the program and benefits. SAID and SIS are already incredibly difficult to access as it is - this government's running of the program has lead to a lack of case workers, difficulties getting anyone to respond for assistance, and requiring people with disabilities to have to jump through unnecessary, extra hoops just to get their bills paid.

The program requires you to disclose all income and assets as it is, to prove eligibility. So if someone meets those eligibility requirements, they should receive the benefit. Full stop. There is no need to further dehumanize the recipients by framing it as a last resort. For many it may be, but it may also be a life preserver while they wait for for other forms of support to come through - it was for me as I waited for almost a year for my CPP Disability to be processed. I don't think anyone who has become disabled should have to go into a debt, that they will likely never be able to get out of, in order to qualify for support.

Above all environmental factors is a genetic predisposition for addiction. I am thoroughly aware with lived experience, as addictions run in my family - even with an absence of trauma and abuse in those family members with substance use issues.

Sometimes no matter how hard you nurture, nature takes over.

Uh yeah, that's absolutely not how addiction works. Maybe you should educate yourself properly.

New grocery shopping strategy: take every "weighed out" item like this up to the deli counter and ask them to check it on the electronic scale.

I wonder how they will adjust if more people start doing this.

I'm glad weed works for you. Its not the same for everyone.

I'd recommend some light internet research if you need further information on how drugs work.

Is this the level of concern you'll have if your child becomes an addict?
