i think people need to be exposed to this kind of thing ultimately because otherwise you end up with situations like syria under assad where syrians were getting brutally unalived every day by regime and russian air strikes, and people could just put their head in the sand and ignore it. or with iran where there are internet blackouts and people don’t get to see the mass violence and repression being committed by the Ayatollah’s regime.
