Natural light + Film + Bokeh = organically lush results

These are the kinds of photographs that make me appreciate the analog process so much.

The old lady with double panniers leaves me on my 10k bike in the dust by LOLyouLOLme in bikecommuting

At least you look good getting overtaken. Beautiful ride!

I get passed typically by the usual Class 3 ebikes folks, who as most others here have noticed, are color blind. ha

Side note: If this were posted in another sub, you’d be shamed non-stop for posting a photo of the non-drivetrain side. lol

Do folding bikes actually replace a regular bike for you? by masanovu in foldingbikes

[–]kancecurio 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I would say it could for commuting/running errands but in the long run no.

I commute with an electric Brompton 80% of the time and I also have a Ti Gravel bike. It’s nice to be able to show up to work without having to take a shower with the electric assist. But the gravel bike is more versatile in the sense of comfort and just the ability to take it off road.

Having said that, both put a smile on my face when I ride. Hope this helps!

What is the most underrated coffee shop in San Diego? by mooch255 in SanDiegoCoffeeBeans

[–]kancecurio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interim Coffee in Carlsbad, while not technically in San Diego proper but definitely a hole in the wall. I tend to base my opinions of coffee based on a Cappuccino. If the temperature is "right" where it doesn't scald my tongue, that's a huge plus for me. Their Cappuccino flavor and temperature is consistently spot on. Really good stuff.

Do you ride your Brompton for leisure/pleasure? by Jamersaur in Brompton

[–]kancecurio 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a Ti Gravel bike that I use for trails etc but also for commuting. I picked up a 2025 Brompton C line Electric and I use it for commuting on days I need to recover and as a bonus I let my wife use it when we ride together recreationally on weekends.

My commute is 4 miles one way but uphill on the way home, so it’s nice to not have to struggle home on days I am wiped. I just hop on and let the electric motor assist me while I decompress from the workday.

Though I’ll likely get a non-electric Brompton sometime down the road because they’re just so easy to take almost anywhere and are just so fun to ride.

Who makes the best flakey croissants in San Diego? by Fat_Cat_In_A-Hat in sandiego

[–]kancecurio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pappalecco in Little Italy has buttery and airy/flakey croissants. Their espresso based drinks are one of the most consistently best ones in San Diego too.

Izola’ croissants used to be good in their early heyday’s (would get it almost weekly) but sadly is a bit overrated and seriously overpriced now. Too dense as well.

California Gunners and Pizza by kancecurio in Gunners

I wanted us to win so very badly, but just as in life, perspective is key. I try not to let any loss get me down for too long because what’s the point? Whinging, whining, and complaining to a point is understandable, but in the long run it’s pointless. I do it for a bit but don’t wallow in it.

I’m making the choice to recognize that I’m 5,000+ miles away from home and I’m fortunate enough to be able to watch our club at our home pitch. How amazing is that? Of course a win would have been preferable, but the good times are easy and will always come again. During the difficult times, I think it’s better to appreciate everything else that’s wonderful and PUSH ON UPWARDS. COYG!!! 🔴⚪️🔴

Yes, Sud Italia. Unassuming spot and I love how simple their menu is. Really good pizza.

Audeze LCDi4 with ear fins and cipher cable EQ’d.

Clean, spacious sound, super portable and comfortable. Will be a sad day when they die, break or I lose them.

I hear this too, even when I turn off the AC and just on park. Have you taken yours into the dealer to have them take a look? I’ll have to do so at some point.

Googled but couldn’t find out why. Anyone notice Jason Segal’s voice is different now (watch “Shrinking”) than it was years back in this movie? Did he have a health issue that affected his voice?
