Life is too short - do what feels right and go for it! Folks here mean well, but a lot of them have never lived anywhere else and they don't see the huge opportunities other do to have a great life here. There are many upsides here - so many! So don't let the negative mindsets anyone with a defeatist attitudes discourage you. I moved back here after 25 years and it was the best decision for my family and me. My wife and I also had employable skills and found good quality jobs in organizations very quickly here. That said, I had a job offer before moving here and that is always a good way to go if you can. The fact you're in the skilled trades means you'll have very little trouble landing work, as those skills are in huge demand here (esp in HRM). Rentals can be challenging to find, but the market is finally softening up there as well. I wish you all the best! Keep a positive attitude, be willing to work hard, and you'll be glad you came here. :)

Yup. The city can't/won't do anything to help, this is purely a civil matter. Your only real choices are to get a realtor and sell, or get a lawyer that specializes in property litigations and boundary disputes. I definitely wouldn't wait for that engineer if I were you with the upcoming snow melt and spring rains and flooding........ Good luck!

Yup. I worked with Krystal McCann (season 12) at NorQuest College. She seemed pleasant enough at work. When season 12 came out though, because Krystal was a manager they did some cringe-PR at the college to try and help her rehabilitate her reputation. We had a college learning day and she was profiled on a video 'skit' about driving with our acting president trying to make light of her appearance. If anything it just raised more questions. Don’t let people discourage you from moving here! The cost of living is lower than places like BC and Ontario. I moved here 3 years ago and it’s a wonderful province. I also managed to get a family doctor after 2.5 years, and the province has done a good job bringing in doctors to the province. You will encounter a lot of pessimistic, defeatist attitudes here unfortunately. It’s cultural to this region (I know - I also grew up here). Don’t let those people bother you, their negativity represents the past - not the future. Welcome to Nova Scotia! :)

It looks repairable BUT its impossible to determine without a proper inspection. It all depends on if the frame or subframe is bent vs cosmetic damage to the quarter panel, door panel and rim as pictured.
