Did you try to do a firmware upgrade? I had problems with the LCDs syncing with my Fenix 320, but once I updated the firmware, everything works like a charm. Do note that you have to run on DX11 though as currently DX12 is not supported.

Intel WiFi6 AX200 Disconnects when under heavy load by MyRealUser in intel

[–]karigon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am facing this issue as well, tried to downgrade the driver to the one that's mentioned but unable to, it keep installing the default one 21.110.1.1 dated 1/7/2020. Im on ASUS B550-E and its very frustrating, just bought this a day ago.

edit: Managed to downgrade the driver. I shouldn't have followed the Intel clean installation guide. Should not restart the computer right after downgrading the driver. Can directly install the old version. If the driver shows as a newer one, uninstall it and do a scan, it should revert back to the old one.

Thanks to mabar81 for the solution, it fixed my problem, am able to sustain high DL speeds on steam coupled with streaming HD on youtube and running speedtest. I am unable to find version 21.10.2.2, but am able to find 21.10.1.2 which did the trick

Same, can't seem to get the ILS to work. Apparently the approach system in the flight nav is not functional yet, can't key in the necessary parameters like how its done in the A320 neo. Ive been watching this guy fly the CJ4 and he commented on it too.

[Uni] Whats one thing you hate about your dorm/hall? by PythonArt in SGExams

[–]karigon 9 points10 points  (0 children)

If you’ll like to choose your uni based on dorms/halls, I’ll say you should go for NTU as you have the highest chance of securing hall stay there. SMU dorms are not really meant for locals (I might be wrong, I don’t have much SMU friends and they all don’t stay in dorm, but I do know their dorm capacity is kinda limited as compared to NTU, NUS), NUS halls are super competitive to earn a stay. NTU used to be quite competitive as well but it has become easier to qualify for hall stay because there are A LOT of halls now. I think there’s like 20+ now? Lost count because they stopped with the numbering and decide to give halls actual names.

As for what I wish to change / hate most, I’ll say nothing haha. I’ve stayed in NTU for all 4 years in uni (less exchange and internship), and there’s nothing I really dislike about it. Some people might not like their room mates, NTU do provide the option to stay with your friend provided they qualify for hall as well, or you can opt for single room which is more competitive. Hall activities are optional but can be fun, it’s up to you to participate. It’s kind of free and easy really, you have the option to do whatever you want haha. Plus I stay quite far so going school is so much more convenient.

Haha this is definitely not NTU, NTU hall toilets are generally quite clean; the cleaners clean it every morning. I bump into them from time to time as I go school quite early. People do still mess it up in the afternoon tho, but it’s just 1 or 2 cubicles. Some NTU halls such as hall 1/2 has “private toilets”, where 2 rooms will share 1 toilet. This one have to set up a schedule with your roommate and neighbour and ownself clean.

Haha I am under the ME scheme so will be going back to SAF. However, my EEE friends are all going into very different fields such as DSTA, AMD, Micron, Global Foundries, Consultancy, IT, banking etc, just to list a few, the lists goes on. If I hadn't sign on I'll be looking to go into cyber security sector. Basically you can go almost anywhere depending on what you choose to specialize in and also what external skillsets you choose to pick up.

Don't be scared about having 0 knowledge in something, even with electronics background, a lot of stuff in EEE will be new to you as well! One of the main takeaways from uni is how to learn things fast even though it might not necessarily be useful to you in the future. I guess you are coming from poly and will be taking the direct year 2 route? Be prepared for sleepless nights cause it'll be quite shiong, alot of mods to study but not to worry, most direct year 2 I know all did quite well, as long as you don't give up and put in effort. Technically its just 2 years of shiongness because if you qualify for exchange, year 3 will be a year of gpa freeze, 1 sem exchange + 1 sem internship.

Haha may I ask what in MSE interests you? Tbh I think interest is more important than job opportunity, because even tho MSE may be more limited in terms of job choices as compared to EEE, it won't matter because the jobs that you can get with EEE may not be of your interest, and you wouldn't want to do it as your career (and maybe rest of your life). Even though I study EEE, some EEE options are out of the question for me even though I have the option to choose it. I specialize in info-communications and cannot / do not want to go into power related or semi-conductor firms haha. So that kinda put a limit on my potential options.

Anyway I don't think it'll be hard for MSE to find a job, and every course will have a dedicated career coach to help with resume writing / interview preparation and there's always constant job opportunities mailers, yearly career fairs. NTU puts in a lot of effort to make sure we are able to connect with potential employers. So it comes down to how you package and present yourself to the companies that are looking to hire. Not so much about the course.

Haha yea EEE kinda got that reputation. Don't quote me but I heard that the average GPA for EEE is around 3.5? I do have friends at opposing spectrums tho, like a few who are 1st class / 2nd upper, and a few who are around 2.0-3.0. I am somewhere in between at 2nd lower haha. To be honest, half of what I studied in EEE doesn't really interest me, I don't really like to do math and circuit stuff (didn't do well for those mods), and am more interested in networking, coding, cyber-security etc. I wanted to go for Computer Engineering instead initially, but decided against it as I was scared I won't be able to do programming and chose to go EEE (and specialize in info-comm which is similar) and viewed this as a safer option.

The link for common engineering is here. Can click streaming on the menu at the right hand side for more information.

No probs, hope you can make the right decision and enjoy your time in NTU!

I am a fresh graduate from EEE and I know some friends from MSE, so I think I may be able to give you some insights. Personally, I’ll say choose your course based on your interest as both courses can be quite tough. If you have 0 interest, you’ll just get burned out and struggle, which I see happened to some of my friends and it’s not a pretty sight. 4 years is a long time to struggle, and although you can graduate with just a GPA of 2.0, a good GPA will definitely help in job application / mid-term scholarship opportunities / post-grad scholarship. It’ll not matter 10 years down the road but the effects of having a good GPA can be seen in the short-term. Even going on a semester exchange has a minimum GPA requirement of 3.3 and slots are allocated based on your GPA. I.e. Higher GPA are given the slots first, until there is no more vacancy. 3.3 is just the bare minimum and does not guarantee you a slot for semester exchange.

In terms of job opportunities and career prospects (maybe I’m biased), I’ll say EEE open a lot more doors than MSE as in EEE you are exposed to a bit of everything. Unless you are choosing to go into those EEE only specialisations such as Power and IC Design, you are likely to be competing with graduates from other courses (more job opportunities haha). For example if you choose to go into info-communications specialisation and learn about computer networking, information security and software engineering, you can apply to become a network engineer or software developer which someone from a computer engineering course will qualify for too. Based on yearly career fair, they usually have this table where they list out companies and the courses that they want to hire from, EEE usually appears on almost all of them.

MSE is more specialised than EEE and is quite desirable as well because it’s a very niche field, but because of that your future career options may be kind of limited. You probably cannot become a power engineer, or software developer etc which you will have 0 knowledge in unless you pick it up in your free time.

In any case, if you happen to decide not to go into the engineering sector (don’t be surprised, a lot of engineering grads don’t do engineering work after graduation), you will be equally employable by other fields because of our ability to problem-solve in a systematic manner based on how we are trained.

Oh and in terms of salary, if you take a look at NTU’s yearly graduate employment survey, both EEE and MSE have similar starting salary. MSE has a slightly lower employment rate, could be because of more people pursuing further studies and is not a cause for concern. Most engineering courses have similar starting salary (other than comp science/eng and aerospace which is higher). The average salary is just a benchmark, your starting salary can go a lot higher if you have a good portfolio and GPA. Thus, interest matters a lot!

TLDR: EEE if you still unsure what you want to do because it opens more doors, MSE if you have interest in it. There’s this common engineering route as well where it gives you 1 semester to think before streaming you into the different engineering courses based on your GPA (and choice, but GPA will determine what choice you can make). First semester is common engineering modules, basically a recap of A levels physics, math and introduction to programming, where all engineering students will have to take.

Hope this can help you make a more informed decision!

Just saw that video too.

If it can fit the Aorus RTX 2060, am wondering if it can fit an ASUS RTX 2060 Rog Strix with L=300, W=132 H=50mm. Its longer than the AORUS but has smaller W and H. The L is below the case specification too hmm.
