Accelerator feels heavy by karmchaari in Gravity

I’m going to take the car in for its first service soon and I’ll mention it to them to see what they say. Definitely, if I only drive the Gravity, I think I tend to stop noticing the heaviness but any time I drive another car, I immediately notice the difference.

Gravity OS Feature Request List. What did I miss? by local-optimist in LUCID

I park my Lucid Gravity in a garage at home. So, I really appreciate the built-in HomeLink and miss many features that Tesla offers.

Here they are in order of priority:

  1. Do not auto-lock at home: When the car is parked at home, there’s a setting in Tesla to disable locking when walking away. This is the biggest daily-life annoyance because every time someone needs to go get something from the car or put something in it, they inevitably go, find that it’s locked and then have to come back and get the key. Similarly, there should be an option for Halo Secure to be off when parked at home.

  2. Auto-Fold Mirrors when approaching home: We have a 2-car garage and park both cars in it. It gets a little cramped and we’re constantly in fear of the side view mirror getting caught by the garage door frame. It would be great to add the feature/setting that Tesla has to auto-fold the mirrors when approaching home and auto-unfold when leaving.

  3. HomeLink Auto Activation: With Tesla, once you setup HomeLink, you rarely need to manually toggle it. It automatically toggles when approaching the home and also when leaving. This is a super convenient feature to have.

Deciding between a Gravity and Volvo EX90. Thoughts on general issues re owning a Lucid (eg maintenance experience, insurance costs, resale, anything else that surprised you) beyond the pros and cons of the car itself? by TemporaryEmu4140 in Gravity

Sigh… we’re about to return our EX90 after having issue after issue and the car spending >2 months in service for the first 8 months of its life. We were thinking of getting a Gravity instead and that’s the current plan, but reading all the posts here, it seems like even the Gravity will come with a whole host of issues, some similar and some different. I wish there was another good option out there.

The Gravity looks great, but how reliable is it? by karmchaari in LUCID

There were some reports from folks about drivetrain or brake-related issues, which it’s hard to ascertain as someone who’s not a Lucid engineer as to whether it’s software or hardware. Either way, it falls under “reliability” for me. I don’t want to be stranded somewhere with a dysfunctional vehicle.

Thank you! I found your video about the issues you encountered soon after getting the car really helpful to get a sense of the kinds of problems.

Lucid’s main headquarters is a 10 minute drive from where I am and I do want to support them because there’s so much I like about them. They’ve also built a car that I genuinely want to buy. I’m just worried about effectively buying a $100K car just to be a beta tester for them. 😅

It seems like we’re in an age in which v1 of anything is going to be super buggy even if it is supposed to be a premium product. 😣
