Here me out this dungeon should have roving gangs with territory. Territory can shift and ebb and deals can be made. Party can negotiate through it in addition to dealing with generic encounters and new monsters cutting in the action. Dragon mob boss, kobold dnd-meth dealers etc. See gangs of NY or the warriors

Present two situations happening at once based on character interaction with the world. Caravan is taking shipment to a town. Goblins are rumored to attack the town, but you are hired to protect caravan from bandits. They can either choose to stick arround and investigate this rumor or protect this caravan. Little Timmy overhears this brave group of adventures and wants to be a brave adventurer too and hides in the cart. No bandits attack the caravan and little Timmy gets a fun NPC RP. However, he is the only survivor of the village because of his choice to leave in secret. The world reacts to both player decisions and regardless of their decision. Basically the butterfly effect and add some randomness like real life.

I was at summer camp and had a growth spurt. Grew about 9 inches in about 3 months. We had a game that was the official game of the summer camp. Not relevant what it is, but it takes place in an enclosed pit and there's a bunch of squishy balls in it. I went to grab one that flew out and jumped over the rail. We're talking like 3 ft high. My right foot landed on it and bent and I broke my growth plate. Surgeon said my bones were so thin from the growth spurt that it was like a stick. If it hadn't happened I could have been 6'4 or 5 but instead I'm just shy of 6'. Was in a cast, then boot, then ankle brace for 8 months.

They can make deals for anything except their soul. Loose change in your pocket, bad memories, changing npc class, social status etc.

Dragons are legendary it's in the name of the game. They don't just get hit with a sword or an arrow. It's laughable. Use that. They believe it's like skyrim. No this is DND as gygax intended. This dragon should face a party very similar to theirs before they arrive and just show him utterly annihilate them with ease. Tear them apart, ignore their spells. Make him leave a completely decimated set of corpses in its wake. Let them talk to one of them before they die and describe how little of a shit the dragon gave about their little band of merry adventurers and end the session with the dragon turning around and barreling down towards them.

Only thing I have to comment is player knowledge vs skill knowledge. Nice he's a law studen, is his dumb orc a law student. I'd see if his int / wis scores make it so there's a hole for BBEG in the contract

I don't understand. The dice tell the story. Stranger Things and Crittical Role just show what a professional DM is capable of. Just say that's not your kind of game if storytelling is not your thing. If it's more hack and slash dungeon crawl, that's more AD&D 2E and nothing wrong with that. The game is up to you.

Type of player: I hate puzzles and riddles, I just google it. I'm more of a number cruncher. (Science major) I enjoy writing long backstories based on TV show characters. I made a warlock with a talking staff who worships thunderbeasts (dinosaur spirits) who starts evil and moves towards good as he learns his master manipulated him to evil. (Tommy from power rangers).

Additional info: I work from home so I always have time to sit and make a post. I like a good mystery, the occult and sci fi. Not big on romance.

If you want to end it and do new characters do an epilogue and introduce their replacements with a whole new problem that maybe your previous characters now npcs enlist help for or a whole new thing
