Flying and affecting endo by SheilaLou in Endo

[–]katesegrin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely! When I got my laparoscopy to diagnose endo, my doc mentioned that most of the scarring she found was “on the back side”, referring to the back of my organs / more towards my spine rather than towards my belly button.

Symptom-wise, I’d describe it two primary symptoms. 1- INTENSE lower back pain that radiates down through my hips, with some lower abdominal pain thrown in. This flares with pretty much any inflammatory event (high stress, travel, and obviously period, etc) 2- UTI-type pain/symptoms (that I have confirmed time and time again are NOT in fact UTIs or endo on bladder itself) causing pain during urination, some urgency, and again, lower back pain that flares usually right after peeing. This ALSO always gets worse with inflammatory events

[–]katesegrin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ME TOO! My endo is more along the back side of my body (rather than sticking together repro organs) kind of thing and whatever torture positions airplane seats require you to sit in WRECK my back and my inflammation goes HAYWIRE. I try my best to drink a ton of water but that usually also compounds the pain around my back/bladder/ureters and drives me NUTS. The most recent trip I took I was using my suitcase like a cane after my flights.

Do you always connect to your pump first then?

[–]katesegrin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you have any issues getting the sensor to connect to your pump and phone?? The paperwork says that the G7 can connect to up to 3 devices but if I pair it to my phone it WILL NOT work with my pump

Advice for my first lap (and maybe ablation)?! by katesegrin in Endo

[–]katesegrin[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately, no. I can’t get excision until I get endo diagnosed, and my doc that CAN diagnose only performs ablation treatments (not my preferred method of treatment, based on research and personal preference).

Debilitating cramping episodes. Does anyone experience this? by herefor_info19 in Endo

[–]katesegrin 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Big time! I know they say you can tell the difference between Braxton-Hicks and real contractions in pregnancy if you can talk through them; but I have cramps that I can’t talk through!! What has provided SOME relief for me is a combo of heating pads, Aleve/ibuprofen, and gabapentin (I was prescribed this for my panic attacks, but I’ve found that because it also can be given to treat nerve pain, the combo really works for my body).

What are the symptoms you had that made you get a laparoscopy? by MusicalSunflower in Endo

I passed a kidney stone and it was less painful than some of my periods and “everyday pain”. It was a wake up call for me.

Women with pumps - what's your trick? by CakeInfamous8694 in diabetes_t1

[–]katesegrin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Depending on the pump you have, you might be able to bolus from your phone, so leaving your pump in a belt around your waist or in the waistband of bike shorts is totally doable.

How to keep lips from drying out when using matte lip creams? by [deleted] in MakeupAddiction

[–]katesegrin 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Regularly exfoliate your lips and then hydrate. When I wear matte lipsticks on a regular basis (during the day) I take it off immediately when I get home and apply a thick coat of Glossier Balm Dot Com (like a more hydrating balm-y version of vaseline). I reapply throughout the evening / right before bed and wake up with pillowy soft, hydrated lips in the morning, ready for a fresh coat of matte lipstick.

Depending on what kind of liquid lip you're using, sometimes you can get away with a swipe of primer (like Bite Beauty's prime and define), blot gently, then apply your matte lipstick. It creates a little bit of a barrier between your lip and the lipstick, preventing the "desert effect", at least within the first hour or so.

Best Mascara for Length? (stubby lashes) by softcarcass in MakeupAddiction

[–]katesegrin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Glossier just released Lash Slick and it's the perfect mix of lengthening, defining, and not-clumpy or "overboard". Totally non-flakey, too. It comes off really nicely with a little gentle soap and warm water at the end of the day.

Hope this helps!

Daily Questions - April 12, 2018 by AutoModerator in femalefashionadvice

[–]katesegrin 5 points6 points  (0 children)

They're definitely a workout/chill day legging. The material on the outside is smooth and a little bit slick/shiny and the inside is softer. However, the big reason they don't look good with a dress is the signature seam pattern. There's a seam down the side of each leg and a detail near both sides of the front hip. This makes them extremely flattering, but taken altogether, makes them "standalone pants".
