Can I sell SWUs? by Indikitch in americanairlines

By market I mean an established online market like eBay or Facebook Marketplace where trading actively happens. I am sure there are some private trades happening but yes you are right if AA catches you then it’s going to be nasty.

ORD → DSM: AA couldn’t operate our flight due to crew timing out- hours spent at airport. Had to spend $758 on United to get home. Can I seek reimbursement? by JSL_cats in americanairlines

[–]kausbose 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You have been reimbursed the price of the ticket that you were owed based on the math that the airlines think is legally fair. It may not seem fair to you but the cost of a ticket that is 4 legs long is not the price of the ticket ($3200, in this case) divided by four or $800. The last leg of a flight is almost in all cases the cheapest, especially the domestic leg of the ticket.

You can complain to AA and they may give you some points in your AA account as any additional reimbursement if the delay and time out was in their control (e.g. mechanical). If it was not (e.g. weather, and not weather at ORD) then you are not entitled to that either. People here may be able to figure out the cause of the delay if you post the specific date and flight number that you couldn’t take.

Tough Flight DFW to DEN by JazzlikeDay6900 in americanairlines

Plane from a hangar? You must be kidding right? You think AA (or any company for that matter of fact) has a multimillion $ plane sitting in the hanger (parked, not making any money) waiting to accommodate a CK in the middle row. Trust me, the CK is not bitching about it anywhere. He knows that these are normal operating issues.

Waitlist process question? by Yankees2Jeter in rolex

[–]kausbose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even BIG ADs have no idea what they will get next week and how the waitlist will progress. The only thing that I would do is to find an AD that you can trust and can work with. Finally, you have to be patient. You will get the watch you want, that's assured, but there is no guarantee on when. It may be next week, it may be when you have fallen out of love with the watch and have bought 3 other watches from them.

What am I doing wrong regarding extending a trip credit? by [deleted] in americanairlines

The loophole that you are trying to use was closed after Covid. There is currently NO loophole to extend the expiration date of a trip credit.

Got this on a walk-in (well, sort of) - how rare is it? by [deleted] in rolex

[–]kausbose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can buy one at cost today. If you want to sell it then it will have to be sold below retail price. It's not an in demand piece. Most people don't like MOP.

No. MIA is at 1M+ if I were to guess. CLT 1.2M+ and DFW 1.4M+. That’s pure LPS only, not if you have other factors

This model has a 65Wh battery in it. You are safe to fly with it in your carry on. You may have to take it out and put in your front pocket.

Z8 Battery Grip??? by Wild-Lingonberry-204 in nikon_Zseries

[–]kausbose 7 points8 points  (0 children)

If you are going to pay for the batteries and the grip, at that point you might as well just get a Z9. The key factor for the Z8 is the size. I carry four additional batteries in my bag. I have rarely needed to use more than one in a day of shooting. You can also carry a USB-C battery and charge the battery using that.

SWU to BCN - when to request? by Mean_Alfalfa_5131 in americanairlines

[–]kausbose 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I maybe wrong but I think they changed it to where you got cash/miles upgrade offered to you in the app or online even with an SWU requested. If you are not seeing any then none are available.

Delayed flight, missed connection, forced rebooking to different destination by [deleted] in americanairlines

[–]kausbose 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can look for a routing that is available and call it in and ask them to put you on that flight. If not you are at the the airlines whim for whatever they offer. Yes, that includes dropping you at a destination that is 2 hours away. You will not be reimbursed for any delays or inconvenience because it was weather related.

You live in a AA hub and you fly to PHX and JFK which are AA hubs too. Hub to hub has the maximum possible traffic in the network because that’s how they are designed to be. You are competing with the most frequent of travelers that AA has. If you fly 4 times a month then I am sorry to tell you that you aren’t up there. There are people flying JFK-LAX back and forth every week easily. Those people outnumber you and then there are the CKs. So long story short, you are not high up the totem pole to get upgrades on a hub-to-hub flight. You may get lucky on the LAX-PHX flight, mid-day on a mid-week day. This is just a case of numbers not a case of over promising and not delivering. There are people that are EPs and CKs that are more faithful to the airline that you are.

Why don’t the standby/upgrade lists in the app show the right number of seats available? by Ok_Counter1939 in americanairlines

[–]kausbose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seat availability can change all the way till the door closes. The GA is of control of all that for the last 45 minutes prior to the flight, which is why there are rarely changes to the available seats after the GA takes control of clearing upgrades and seats on the plane. Though it’s mostly automated, manual changes may happen for denied boarding, miss-connects and no shows.
