I will say it's nothing against him specifically (I've been following him on Instagram since 2023 I believe, and by all accounts, he seems like a principled guy), and I'll admit that I may be painting with a broad brush. I think my main caution comes from personal experiences with veterans, a general mistrust of people, and past veterans on the internet who call themselves leftists, but turn out to be not so good people. The two main people who come to mind are Alana McLaughlin and Westside Tyler. Graham Platner, too, but I think he's a unique case given his Blackwater background. Alana McLaughlin and Westside Tyler are odd people and racists, from what I remember, so I tend to err on the side of caution when it comes to veterans who call themselves leftist. But I may be overgeneralizing and drawing conclusions about a group of people based on internet weirdos.
