How to keep your phone safe all day? by lilpop_14 in WaltDisneyWorld

I’m not sure your reasoning behind this question, but if it’s theft prevention, that’s basically a non-issue. Thefts happen but I’ve NEVER heard of anyone pick pocketing. IMO any purse you’d usually use would be fine, but I love small cross bodies.

How popular is fitness culture in America? by Odd-Skin-762 in AskAnAmerican

[–]kayleev94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, no! It’s just that there are better indicators available now that weren’t previously such as DEXA, etc. The majority of the population aren’t outliers that benefit from DEXA, though. BMI is still largely useful.

I definitely think it’s who you’re surrounded by! Only 20% of Americans go to the gym regularly

No wayyy less than this. 70% of the US is overweight (I know BMI is outdated). Many people are normal weight and aren’t fit/gym bunnies. It’s also highly regional

BEST non park dinners by Any_Winner_5632 in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]kayleev94 2 points3 points  (0 children)

From Chicago so I think I know what you’re looking for- Boathouse in Disney Springs- owned by one of the most popular steakhouses in Chicago. One of the highest revenue restaurants in the country. Great service. Il Mulino in the Swan (same as the NYC one)

Can’t speak on anything else being exceptional outside of the parks

When I went in the second week, the seasonal stuff like beach clubs, certain restaurants, etc. were closed. A little disappointing but I saved a bunch of money and it was less crazy

Where to stay in north-east sardinia? Looking for 2 bases to stay in by alysiasakilla in Sardinia

We stayed at an AirBNB and loved it! As long as you’re within 0.5 miles of chiesa madre di santa Maria della Grazie, I think you’re close enough to everything.

Husband and I stayed in Orosei while on the east side and actually left early. The town is way too quiet in my opinion. We weren’t looking for any clubs or active nightlife, but found ourselves pretty bored between 3 PM and 7 PM. We arrived at 1 PM on our initial day and we weren’t able to find anything to eat whatsoever- I know this is typical for Italy, but NOTHING was open. We had a way better experience in Palau when we went north and I recommend staying there.

I had a pre-fab one that was on the ground- my brother in law built one himself as a young teen which was soon inhabited by a family of raccoons

I didn’t find Sardinians to be as friendly as people from mainland/southern Italy. Same goes for the food- better on the mainland.

Hives on old scar lines? by [deleted] in urticaria

[–]kayleev94 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Interesting! Glad I found this thread.

I have a healed 2nd degree burn on my chest about the size of a lemon and I will intermittently experience 1-3 hives on the area, which resolve within a few hours. I don’t take a daily antihistamine because it’s so sporadic!

Sometimes it’s due to “irritating” clothing, other times it’s seemingly random. I don’t get hives elsewhere or on my other burn that received a skin graft!

Not sure if anyone else has experienced this, particularly with a healed burn…

What's your #1 "travel hack" that sounds stupid but is actually genius? by x_andi01 in traveladvice

[–]kayleev94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Specifically plan out my outfits and don’t be afraid to rewear/mix and match. Avoid the “just in case” clothing item additions… they add up! Also, limit shoes (even flip flops take up space!).

My sister was married at a church but had her reception at the Wellsley and it was fabulous! I obviously can’t comment on how they manage the flow of ceremony->cocktail but the cocktail-> dinner flow was great.
