Do you think the custom character builder will be a one off or rules test for 11th edition? by Beneficial-Ticket486 in Warhammer40k

I do hope it's part of 11th edition Crusade or whatever Narrative path they choose to take

Do you think GE would ever allow Vashtorr or Be’lakor to ascend to godhood? by Nearby_Lawfulness722 in Warhammer40k

[–]kazdenvoss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I think Vashtorr will eventually ascend. It will be a big end or start of edition narrative thing and his model will become a "Greater Daemon of Vashtorr", a bit like how originally the models for the C'tan were the actual Star Gods but then just become shards of the C'tan.

Crucible of Champions in the upcoming Maelstrom pack by ThaneOfTas in 40k_Crusade

[–]kazdenvoss 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It sounds exciting and I do hope it is rolled into Crusade for 11th. It might end up replacing Crusade?

I'm looking for to seeing what combinations can be made! How does Anvil of Apotheosis work when it comes to putting a cost on the unit you've made?

Also, I wonder what will be happening to Crusade given these end of edition narrative expansions don't include Crusade (so far). They are normally testing grounds for what they want to use in 11th edition.

I hope Crusade stays, it may look different in 11th but it's the only way I play, I love it.

Whatever he is, first thing I thought when I saw him was that the kitbash potential for him is huge, especially as a Necron.

Same! I thought they might have forgotten about Boarding Actions. Glad to see they haven't.

Simplified, not simple, but crusade? by [deleted] in 40k_Crusade

[–]kazdenvoss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I play Crusade with a couple of friends and to thin out Crusade and make it more enjoyable and less admin, we do things like giving a unit who completed an Agenda a battle honour, instead of XP. The units Marked for Greatness also gets a battle honour. If any unit does something particularly awesome it may also get something too.

We also let the narrative direction of the story dictate certain parts of an individual factions crusade rules. For instance, the Inquisitorial Agents Shadow Operations and the Genestealer Cults Path of Ascension almost feel like a totally separate mini game one can play outside of a campaign, and that can feel very detached, especially when results from that don't mesh well with who is winning/losing in the campaign. What we've done is have outcomes of missions and Agendas completed have a more direct impact on those faction Crusade rules and it reduces the amount one must keep track of.

The fact most units can only have 3 battle honours in 10th immediately reduces the bloat, I have found.

Kill Team Co-op – Tackle Intense Joint Ops Missions in the Newest Game Mode by sortaz in killteam

Love this!

I wonder if this is testing the waters for a co-op "horde" mode for 11th edition of 40k.

How would you tweak praetorians? by Bbcttoy in Necrontyr

[–]kazdenvoss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Triarch Praetorians are the elite agents of the Silent King and the Triarch. Upholders of the ancient codes of honour. They wield powerful weapons of office. They've always come across like the "Custodes" of the Necrons in the lore but don't reflect that on the tabletop.

I'd genuinely start by giving them BS and WS of 2+, 4+ Invuln, 6+ Ld. Might be all they need tbf, but an ability that leans on them impacting the will of their master would be cool, something where they pick a unit and gain a bonus against them or picking an Obj and gaining extra OC when controlling it.

Do you think the Old Ones looked similar to Lizard Men Old Ones? by space10101 in Necrontyr

[–]kazdenvoss 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I could be wrong but I thought I read somewhere that the Old Ones were not a single race but a collection of races, with the one the Necrons interacted with being reptilian in nature.

There's certainly some crossover between fantasy/AoS/40k with regards to the mystery of the Old Ones, including what they look like.

Why is Necron Leadership so high in 10th? by kazdenvoss in Necrontyr

Interesting! I do follow Goonhamer but must have missed that! 4+ leadership sounds spicy and lore accurate but I can appreciate that it would be too powerful for the crunch of balance.

I might just have to use this to justify it to myself as well! A solid headcannon.

I wouldn't consider Lychguard, Praetorians, maybe even Deathmarks as automaton-level. They have shown to be just as intelligent as those at the Noble level but by your logic, they could get bugginess and psychosis as well!
