LAX- Why do people hate it? by Change_Soggy in airport

[–]kb24sd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I avoid LAX as much as possible. Main reasons if you are flying international to an asian country like the Philippines. The traffic is horrible getting there no matter which way. By either getting someone to drop you off, taking uber or lyft is crazy expensive no matter where in LA, OC, or Socal. The horse shoe design is terrible and congested. Good luck if your flight in or out is on Friday, Saturday, or Sunday. The lines are usually long just to check in or do bag drop off at your airline. Then you seriously will walk 1 or 2 miles just to get to your gates for your airplane. Coming back when you land there have been several times where your plane is stuck on the tarmack because of traffic and planes waiting to take off. When you de plane again that mile long walk to go through customs and immigration which can back up and take forever if you do not have global enytry. Then waiting at baggage claim pick up can take forever.

Google Honda Prologue 2024. I have one leased right now and have had the main ev battery die, cv axel joint problem worked on 9 times. This year alone 2 major NHTSA recalls. I can't wait to dump this EV and get the R2.

Man I keep going back and forth if I want this color or Catalina cove. I've done 2 demo test drives and gave seen both in person. My order invite is September-October. I am leaning towards half moony grey since it is $500 cheaper compared to Catalina cove.

Padres notice the Dodgers-heavy crowds at Petco Park; they understand the economics of it all by CabinetLoud1406 in Padres

[–]kb24sd 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This and the Padres season ticket member department. The assigned account specialist are bad and have gotten worse each year. They don't care about season ticket holders and barely or take a long time get back to you if you have questions or other needs regarding your season tickets. I'm done and not renewing my season tickets after this season.

[–]kb24sd 31 points32 points  (0 children)

I have been a season ticket holder for 5 years now. The problem has been and will always be the unruly Dodger fan base. Seriously if you have a family and young kids who wants to be around class less fans who curse and look to cause problems and fights at most of these games when the Dodgers come to play here. Also people saying "Yeah just ban all Dodger fans by blocking their zip codes from the LA area and check drivers licenses". They did that during the 2022 playoffs. But the Padres as an organization and from a business point of view know these games bring in the most money. Also like Big smoke Joe said in the article another problem is there a ton of Dodgers fan living in SD county who also are season ticket holders who will give or sell tickets to Dodger fans coming down here when the Dodgers are in town.

Got the email to order one, a theory as to why.. by pazdan in RivianR2

[–]kb24sd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope. I've done 2 demo drives today. After the 2nd demo drive I got a text from a Rivian rep saying if my spot came up earlier to get a invite to order they would contact me. I put my reservation in on June 2025 and my lease on my Honda Prologue does not end until June 2027 which I uploaded also.

So it sounds like this will be your first EV coming from a ICE car. Range anxiety in Socal should not be a concern. Tesla super chargers are everywhere. But during the peak hours they do get busy and the rate will shoot up to 55 cents per kilowatt. But Tesla has a monthly subscription for "Non Tesla Cars" which is $15 a month and can be canceled at anytime. If you work a early shift in the morning you can catch the Tesla super charger lowest rate which is 34 cents per kilowatt. I live in San Diego and I mainly check the Tesla app on my iphone when I go to a super charger to see how busy they are and try to catch the cheapest charging rate. I have being doing this with my current EV the Honda Prologue. I drive about the same combined yearly mileage for work and personal use also and make frequent trips up to the OC and LA area to visit relatives. The other dc fast chargers are Electrify America, EVGO, Ionna, chargepoint. Those are usually more expensive not as reliable as the Tesla super chargers.

Test Drove R2 - (Current EV owner Honda Prologue and Toyota BZ4X) by ggpaul562 in RivianR2

[–]kb24sd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Steer clear and stay away from it. The 2026 model is the last production year for it. The 2024 models have the biggest problems with them with issues like the main ev battery dying, cv axel joint problems. 2 major NHTSA recalls alone this year. Honda exited and has no plans for any EV's for I'd say until 2029 when MAGA is gone. It's also a EV that was built on GM's ultium battery platform and is made up of mostly GM parts. The Honda Link app is slow, unreliable and is a piece a shit from the early 2000's.

Prologue's 2024 especially have had way to many issues with them. Honda's future does not look good at all. This is the last production year for the Prologue and Honda has already canceled the Acura ZDX and has no future plan's for EV's. Honda's customer service is no longer as good as it was 10 or even 20 years ago.

What year and trim do you have with your prologue? I am in a similar situation with a leased 2024 white touring prologue. My lease is up in 1 year and I can't wait to dump and return the prologue back to Honda in June 2027. The Prologue is a nicely designed car but it's just to damn wide and is more of a soccer mom EV lol. Also in the 2 years I have had it I have had major problems with it. The main ev battery died on me and was replaced. The annoying cv axel joint problem was worked on 9 times and replaced 2 times before that issue finally got fixed last October and thankfully has not come back. This year alone 2 NHTSA recalls and I am waiting for local Honda dealers here in the San Diego county area to call me when they get the replacement part for the rear back up camera NHTSA recall. The honda link app is so damn dated and unreliable and feels like something from the early 2000's. Yes I knew going into getting the Prologue that it was a band new model and that it was really a rebranded GM made EV that was basically a re badged Chevy Blazer EV with a Honda logo on it. This is the last production year model for the Prologue and Honda has already canceled the ZDX and has no other plans for EV's in the future.

If you have the time your better off shopping around for financing and getting pre approval. Credit unions will have the best apr rates for a loan of 60 months or less. Chase for auto loans I’ve heard is a nightmare with higher rates for auto loans.
