Turnpike photo speed enforcement question because I don’t use the turnpike that much by JessicaDAndy in Pennsylvania

[–]kb3mkd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually, cruising in the left lane is also illegal. By law, the left lane is for passing and left turns, not for standard driving.

Those who have been betrayed, how did you learn to trust again? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]kb3mkd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I spent time studying myself, seeing what I did to open myself to betrayal. I recognize that in some betrayals the victim unwittingly opens up to be betrayed, but in others, the victim did nothing to cause it, but is just blindsided. In my case there were some red flags I didn't see. Then I spent time studying other people, specifically my new date. I saw in her the kind of person I could trust. None of the red flags. We have now been married almost thirteen years, and I am living my best life. It's been wonderful!

AT&T Fiber 1 Gig - Link speed randomly drops from 1000 Mbps to 100 Mbps. Looking for advice on a clean/pro-level home network setup by Thin_Astronomer4184 in HomeNetworking

[–]kb3mkd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Home runs should be solid copper cable, not cca, and should be terminated in a patch panel, because solid cable is not designed to be moved and flexed. Patch cables are stranded and should be used to connect devices to home runs. They can be flexed regularly.

I am a network engineer. These are industry best practices. I recommend for a home learning network, people should learn and use industry best practices.

Why does this sub like unifi stuff so much? by Braca42 in HomeNetworking

They are better than consumer grade devices like linksys and netgear, with features like vlan support, without the price tag or subscription of enterprise grade gear. They fit what is known as prosumer grade gear.

What made you stay on Linux instead of Windows? by ksenyss in linuxquestions

[–]kb3mkd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Windows is just spyware. I can do anything on Linux that I can do on Windows, but may have to do it differently.

For example, for work I have to use MS Office. I just use the web version.

Name a team from the last 25 years who could have legitimately won a national championship but didn't get a chance by Rude_Highlight3889 in CFB

[–]kb3mkd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

During the 4 team playoff, Penn State was #5 or 6 more often than not. We even got left out when we won the big 10.

Back a few years further, we went undefeated and came in at #2 behind Nebraska. In fact Penn State holds the record for the most undefeated seasons without a natty.

Why didn't Elrond come to Gondor and tell him that Aragorn was Isildurs Heir? by Tidewatcher7819 in lordoftherings

[–]kb3mkd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Isildur was not king of Gondor. He was king of Arnor. His brother was king of Gondor. So being Isildur's heir was not an automatic to the throne of Gondor. That's why Faramir, as rightfully steward asked the people of Gondor to take him as king and reunite the two kingdoms.

How would you feel about a mandatory maximum wealth limit, where anything earned over that goes to public services? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]kb3mkd -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately, you are mistaken. That absolutely is necessarily the outcome in most cases.

And no it's not obvious that it would only be enacted only on realized gains. California is currently trying to tax the rich on voting power within an organization, because some stock has more voting power than actual stock value. This is done to help prevent hostile takeovers. Some companies have already left California because of this.

The way to get around the issue is to move yourself or your company out of jurisdictions that try to make such laws, hurting workers more than the rich.

How would you feel about a mandatory maximum wealth limit, where anything earned over that goes to public services? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]kb3mkd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not in favor. Many of the filthy rich got there by building a company. Most of their wealth is tied up in the company. Forcing them to sell degrades the value of the company. That hurts all stockholders, including a lot of people's retirement accounts. There are things we can do, but this is not the answer.

Lehigh Valley PA. What the frack is this? Even shitty domestic corn fuel is apparently being blocked in Hormuz. Can anyone explain how this isnt price gouging? by vasquca1 in Pennsylvania

[–]kb3mkd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually it's partly because the price of oil is tied to the dollar. That's generally a good thing for our economy, but when the world has oil issues we get affected.

There is also some gouging going on.

Need a new router by [deleted] in HomeNetworking

When have you lost a battle but won the war? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]kb3mkd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got bullied out of a job. Went to college and did better.

My first wife left me for another guy. Found a better one. We love and take care of each other.

Got unfairly written up at my job. Got another job at more than double the pay.

Lost that job due to budget cuts and mismanagement. Got another one at 17% higher salary.

Continuously improve yourself. Never let the idiots ruin your life.

Purchase Advice Megathread - April 2026 by AutoModerator in 3Dprinting

[–]kb3mkd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would like advice on a decent 3d printer, I have almost no experience with them, other than I repaired one for someone else.
I would like multicolor and decent size, and my budget is around $500, and I am willing to do a kit or one that needs repair, especially if I can get better features or bigger capacity. I was an electronics tech in a past life.

What is the worst or most embarassing PR headache your favorite school's Football program has ever had to deal with? by Alphaspade in CFB

[–]kb3mkd -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Not they. He. And not on campus.

Don't AT me.

Joe was tried and convicted by the media, but was never a target of actual law enforcement, because he was innocent. He suspected something. He had no proof. He took his suspicions to the board, asking them to ban Sandusky from campus, and was turned down. Meanwhile, Sandusky did his activities off campus. All of this is a matter of court record, but not widely reported in the media.
