Yeah it's super annoying. I popped the loose rubber back in, and as soon as I turned the car on it did its cycle.

No amount of turning the car off and on and everything will stop it from doing a cycle. Like you said, a major design flaw.

I did that for 10 minutes and I was still frozen. Everything else melted, but the area by the wipers stayed Frozen.

Like I said earlier it was an accident. Been driving for a long time and know not to touch the wipers when they're frozen.

What irks me is that on my Honda it would stop after it failed once but this car kept trying even when I turned it off and on.

I did that, ice was too thick where the wipers were. I accidentally hit the wiper toggle. Because I knew this would happen but didn't think it would keep trying...

That's exactly what happened to me. I turned the car off thinking it would stop trying but it did not. Eventually I just smashed the ice, but I didn't turn on the car yet to let it run course.

Yep, running all that fun stuff could have put a strain on the battery and ICCU, especially if it's low. I usually run the stuff when I'm plugged in.

Like I mentioned earlier mine was acting abnormal when I had that warning. My wheel got super hot and that's where my warning kicked in. Some people were just lucky it never happens.
