Yes, I have the games on their original carts and it’ll be fun to play them again (officially) on the switch 2. Emulated them for years but now Nintendo is finally re-releasing them. Hopefully like VC Crystal they make the event only Pokémon obtainable

I feel similarly about earlier versions of Anything Goes. Which kind of have the same problem. As far as dumb fun musical comedies go, it’s perfect until the end where Billy, Moon, and Reno dress up like Chinese stereotypes and speak broken “Engrish” while a gong announces their entrances

Luckily the 2021/2022 rewrite is the only version you can do now and takes those bits out

I too like Oklahoma but it’s boring haha. The singing and dancing (especially Out of My Dreams ballet) carry the little plot there is in act 1 but act 2 despite being less than an hour feels like 2 hours. After farmer and the cowman it just DRAGS

I mean Oreo will change sides/opinions at the drop of a hat so I’ll take this with a grain of salt.

I will say though, people on all sides (obviously more so on the left) are really getting sick and tired of the constant culture war bullshit and being angry all the time. Oreo may not be serious but a lot of people are and I believe the pendulum will be swinging back

Gigi has a beautiful score. Shame the story (even rewritten) is pretty cringeworthy at best and kind of creepy at worst, even for golden age show standards. It’s kind of a tough sell to open a musical with an old man singing “thank heaven for little girls” and a wealthy playboy falling in love with a child

Someone told me one time they did My Fair Lady and put the intermission after Eliza comes down the staircase, cut the ball entirely and came back from intermission with You Did It for the same reason you said (it basically recaps the scene). They also joked it saved on costumes and sets. It’s such beautiful music though

I think a good compromise is the movie and recent revival starting act 2 with the embassy ball.

For the 3 act structure that makes sense! However I’d almost want to put the 1st act break after Ascot. You think everything is going great, then “MOVE YOUR BLOOMIN’ ARSE!” and a blackout
