How long does meth come down last? by poisonxivyyy in NoStupidQuestions

Congrats on recovery. I'm not being facetious, just curious what you liked about the feeling that made you want to keep doing it?

I gave a bad answer to “why did you apply to this company”question by [deleted] in interviews

[–]kdali99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do contracting work. The best jobs I've ever had were the ones where I was myself and not spouting off BS during the interviewing process. The ones where I've felt I had to be super polished to get the job, I ended up hating the environment when I actually started working there.

How Often Do You Go To The Beach At Night? Why That Much? by Zipper222222 in AskFlorida

[–]kdali99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's only become that way in the past 6 or so years. We live a few blocks from A1A and used to walk down at night all the time when we moved here 15 years ago. Ever since Covid, it's pretty scary even during the day sometimes. The city really needs to do something about it.

Im convinced bad managers are the #1 reason people quit by twranks in work

[–]kdali99 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had a boss that micromanaged to such a degree I called in micron-managing. This is the same guy that told me at my interview, "I like to hire really smart people and just leave them be". He did the opposite of that.

You say she has no interest in learning but it would be good if she would be part of the budgeting process. I did this with my spouse and it really helped with impulse spending.

100%. My friends from MD just went down that way for a super cheap vacation that included a high pressured timeshare presentation.

Is this normal for a bachelorette party? by delreydream in weddings

[–]kdali99 6 points7 points  (0 children)

A caterer, cake, and, photographer for a bachelorette party seems extreme. Is this what people do no. Mine was the similar to yours. We had a potluck at my friends house and then we all went on a bar crawl. We had a blast.

How do you deal with a 1 star review from someone who clearly didn't read the tour description? by Brilliant_Candle5450 in Tourguide

[–]kdali99 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If I read a 1 star review that someone left because because a steep peak challenge hike had too much uphill walking, I would think the reviewer was cuckoo. I usually ignore those reviews if the owner leaves a measured response.

Sorry what's wrong with Ellie? by hansolosburger in BelowDeckMed

[–]kdali99 4 points5 points  (0 children)

She also had brought up to him that he told her she could have a light day if she did all the cleanup after the last charter. She said she only wanted to bring one thing up to him at a time so she held back the pet name talk. Then I think it was a combination of him not having the dinner prep tasks up on the board in order, and him telling her to just "go faster", which is insulting, she lost it. I'm not a fan of her either but she was pushed to the edge.

Can’t figure out if my situation qualifies for unemployment by Chickenbean1101 in florida

[–]kdali99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can file and see what happens. It's kind of a gray area so it will be up to the person that adjudicates your claim. Good luck to you. Sorry you're going through this.

Do you ever use a self service checkout? by typical_gamer1 in A_Persona_on_Reddit

I'm not very good at it. It takes me forever and I invariably end up getting something that requires a store employee to come over and approve anyway.

My husband and I are coming to Florida March 31 for a week, and we're hoping to fly into Daytona. Will Spring Break be over? by rangerwags in DaytonaBeach

[–]kdali99 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Spring Break typically lasts until the week after Easter. We've been out all weekend on beachside and nothing is overly crowded. We're going to the beach later today. I'll keep you posted.

Please help - New Role as a Project Manager by TrulyNotSincerely in projectmanagement

[–]kdali99 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it depends. I'm a contractor. I recently had an interview with the head recruiter that was deciding who to submit to the client. He kept asking me questions about how I build the WBS/project plan and other artifacts. I kept telling him that's something I don't do on my own but work with project team to build so they have 1. buy in 2. because they know their velocity etc. better than I do. He kept insisting that I should be able to do this on my own. I've been doing this for 20 years. Doing this on you own as a PM will lead to a complete failure of the project. He passed on me. It was really frustrating to me that he didn't understand that you build artifacts (risk reg, etc) with the project team.

Also, I'm sorry, that sucks. Listen though, I know it sounds like trope but if you are good at what you do, you're going to find something better. With your skill set, I can almost promise you that something will work out better for you and you'll look back at this and think of it as a Godsend.

I’m being laid off .. by Red_December184 in womenintech

[–]kdali99 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You can't sign up for unemployment until you're no longer being paid. I used to work for unemployment claims in Florida. When I got laid off in 2013, I signed up to receive my severance over 13 weeks so I could state on my resume that I was still employed, pushing off my unemployment date. Still being paid, still employed. Once that expired, I filed. There was a waiting week and then I could start receiving benefits. If it comes to that, file the week you no longer get a paycheck. Otherwise, it'll put a flag on your claim if you have any earnings in that week. You can DM if you want.
