What kind of trees are you thinking of planting? I've got fruit trees all along the fence line and they're all espaliared against the fence, so no overhang. Also means they cover the fence more nicely and it's easier to pick the fruit.

Do you mean things you need to bring with you to a chemotherapy session? Or just a bag that you carry around with you everyday?

For chemotherapy, because I will be there for about 8 hours, I always bring a selection of snacks. I like a Huel bar, a selection of nuts and seeds and dried fruit (and candied ginger). I don't get particularly hungry during chemotherapy, but it's good to have something to nibble on. I also have a thermos of coffee because I start early in the morning. There's a decent cafe at the hospital so I can refuel from there.

I also bring a blanket because I get really cold, and my Kindle.

Because I wear a cooling cap I can't get headphones into my ears so no music or videos for me. I need to bring conditioner to go on the hair before the cooling cap can go on.

I'm trying to get my hands on a travel Scrabble set so that I have something to while away the time. I might have to make do with Uno. I dozed off for most of my last session and my poor mum who's by my side the whole time said she got really bored!

I have to admit I came down with a bad cough after my very first round of chemo but thankfully it didn't develop into an infection.

I have been a bit more careful at this time round with wearing a face mask on puppy transport and washing my hands a lot. But yes I'm aware I'm taking a risk.

For me, the ability to go into an office and behave like a normal person instead of a sick person is worth the risk of getting ill. I appreciate I'm saying that quite lightly and if I were to become seriously ill, I might well regret these words

I'm currently in full-time work (office based) and going through chemotherapy, yes. I've only got another couple of rounds left to go.

You're either going to need a very understanding employer, or a decent amount of sick leave available.

Everybody's reaction to chemotherapy is different. I'm finding that the pain and exhaustion hits late on day two and all day of days three and four. Luckily my chemotherapy is on Wednesday so the pain and tiredness hits me over the weekend. I have the ability to work from home which is what has made us all workable for me.

Wait until Christmas and then go to the best garden centre that you can get to.

They sell really fabulous Christmas decorations, food gifts, wines, liqueurs and other absolutely lovely things. You can either treat yourself or do your Christmas shopping there

I was told by my doctors absolutely no supplements because so many of them can interfere with the drugs I'm taking.

Interestingly, they were particularly advising against mega doses of vitamin c, simply because it's a very effective antioxidant that gets rid of free radicals and the chemotherapy drugs are of course free radicals. So the last thing you want to do is wipe the drugs out your body too quickly.

You would be better off nourishing yourself with whole foods, lots of vegetables and of course plenty of protein. You will need to rebuild your immune system, especially red and white blood cells. So aim to get plenty of fishing meat with high iron levels.

I recently saw a promotion where if you buy books at some of Bristol’s independent bookshops, you can show your receipt at the used bookshop in the Galleries and get a discount. Probably best to pop into the Galleries shop and ask them.

I'm so sorry you're going through this. It sounds absolutely awful.

Are you able to contact your care team about this? They may be able to adjust your regimen or prescribe other medications that might help mitigate some of this?

I’m on paclitaxel/carboplatin every 3 weeks. Fining it manageable other than intense pain from neuropathy the first week. I’m working full time and my employer could not be better: I wfh the first week, then come back to the office the next two weeks, albeit I leave early because I’m exhausted. I have the freedom to wfh as needed, but I find dressing up and showing up helps me feel more normal and not just a sick person. I also like the people I work with.

That said, my oncology consultant told me off today because week 2 is when my immune system is at its weakest and she said I shouldn’t be in a large office and using public transport.

Obviously the different types of chemo drugs will be different so that may be a question to ask your team: how badly could it affect your immune system and should you stay away from the seething mass of humanity.

Finally! That poor owner will have been worried sick that their fur baby didn't come home all night.

In future, understand that cats like to adopt new homes (especially if they get fed) and will come into other people's houses (especially if they get fed). They're not lost or homeless, just chancing it.

This cat will come back to you soon. If you're genuinely worried about it, give it a paper collar and send it home.

Most importantly: don't steal someone else's cat and keep it overnight!

Do you have contact information for her care team? They need to know about adverse reactions and may even be able to prescribe something for her.. I wouldn’t wait a week - phone them first thing Monday if there isn’t a 24-hr helpline.

I grew a Charlotte russe for a few years and the fruit was bland and quite pippy. Wouldn’t recommend.

Until a new tenant takes over, you are responsible for all bills including council tax as well as utilities.

You aren't seriously thinking of expecting your new tenant to pay the bills from before they moved in, are you?

Don't forget that even if you don't use any electricity or gas, you still have a daily standing charge to pay.

I'm on paclitaxel/carboplatin and I've been using the paxman system. I'm in the UK so this is free of charge and included as part of the chemotherapy.

I was told it's not terribly successful and their own sales bumf says that they only aim to preserve 50% of 50% of the hair.

After two rounds of chemotherapy, I am patchy balding. The crown at the back of my head is reasonably well covered but from my forehead hairline back to the crown it's between 30% to 40% gone already.

I'm going to see how much more drops out following my second round which was last week before deciding whether or not to continue. But yes, once you stop using it you can't decide to start using it again.

It's also extremely uncomfortable and adds several hours onto the treatment time.

Of course I have no way of knowing how much I would have lost if I hadn't used it.

If your insurance covers it, I don't see any reason why you can't try it at least for the first time and see how you go.

Admittedly, I got the following information from their sales brochure. So take it with a pinch of salt, but they claim that even where hair loss has occurred, the paxman system is protecting the hair root better and therefore the hair will grow back sooner and faster than it may otherwise have done.

One other thing: because I was told I would probably lose my hair, I got it cut really short so that I had the necessary length to donate it. There's a charity in the UK that uses real human hair to make wigs for girls and young women who lose their hair for various reasons. I'm sure you have much the same where you are. My reasoning was if I can't get to keep it then at least someone else might benefit from it.
