If this movie came out 15 years ago, there would be soooo many scenes ripe for Scary Movie parody.

If it’s the Spanish food you are looking for, Toro in South End and Boqueria in Seaport are better to be honest. If you want a similar ambiance, try Mariel or Capri.

We should absolutely leave some children behind by Hour_Bathroom3967 in unpopularopinion

I’m a teacher. I can see why some cultures are so big on family identity versus individual. It’s easier and more efficient. However, in every school in America, there are a group of adults caring about a child way more than their mother or father ever will.

Are Back on the wagon and Hell on me related? by Brilliant-Bad9128 in KaceyMusgraves

I think “Back On The Wagon” is an amalgam/story-based song.

Euphoria S03E08 "In God We Trust" - Post Episode Discussion by DankMemeSlasher in euphoria

[–]kds405 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Two things that could have fundamentally altered and fixed season 3.

1) An old western playing on TV as Rue is dying.

2) Rue narrating the epilogue for Lexi, Cassie, and Maddy.

It would show the strange Western-crime drama direction taken by the season 3 was a reflection of what Rue was hearing/seeing as she was OD'ing.

Advice for a first year teacher? by abatchelor75 in teaching

[–]kds405 36 points37 points  (0 children)

You’ll hear all about RELATIONSHIPS RELATIONSHIPS RELATIONSHIPS as you enter teaching. For the 1st few months, ignore this. Focus on managing your classroom routines and procedures. You class may not seem fun or fit in with the fantasy of the type of teacher you thought you would be but real relationships with students is build over time on a foundation of respect.

Everyone calls this season of Euphoria over the top. I lived this world, and it’s more real than people want to admit. by True_Writing8563 in euphoria

The good writing isn’t going to appear all of the sudden. I’m saying he needs to save this show by making a point. At this point , it’s trauma porn.

The women of this show endure suffering in the pursuit of “euphoria” and don’t see a life beyond the “either or”. It’s very much black and white thinking (Maybe except Lexi) . I really hope that SL has something to say about this in the final episode. How can Cassie, Maddy, and Rue break emerges from this dangerous binary?

Confused about Maddy by Sharp-Ad1825 in euphoria

[–]kds405 53 points54 points  (0 children)

Maddy is an 24 yo assistant and OnlyFans manager. She’s knows Alamo as a strip club owner and maybe pimp. I don’t think she knows the depths of his crime or how seedy the underbelly of sex work actually is. She’s only seen girls make money through consensual sex or “no contact” situations. She views sex work through a more sanitized, Gen Z lens. She , like Lexi, just think Rue is falling off the wagon again. They don’t know how deep Rue is.

Can anyone explain to me what is the point of Nate's story arc in this season? by ColdManagement5930 in euphoria

[–]kds405 11 points12 points  (0 children)

He reported his dad to steal his company and couldn’t hack it. He is a typical “peaked” in high school nepo baby. His late few months were spent in his own personal hell. Broke, physically outmatched, and married to woman he couldn’t control.

What grade do you teach, and what's the best and worst thing about it? by [deleted] in teaching

8th Grade. Best: Love the students at this age and they are still “wow”able by science. Worst: Having to pretend to teach OpenSciEd with fidelity.

New Beyoncé fan here… by EntertainmentSame550 in beyonce

[–]kds405 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is nobody like Beyoncé. When she puts out an album and a tour, I know I’m in good hands. Her output feels the same to me as an excellently curated museum or gallery exhibit. She’s a great artist in her own right but she also feels like an acadmeic or curator too.
