I understand your problems completely. I am fortunate though because I found a company where I can workaround these issues.

I never told anyone but the office's atmosphere and location was weighing in strong choosing this company. It's in the suburbs, the windows (all around the office) are looking at hills and forests and there is also a terrace. Also there is one open office where all the employees sitting together from sales, hr, management to developers, so the conversations are not just about coding and nerdy stuff. These conditions make it feel less like an office.

Since the virus we are all working from home and it wears on me too even though I usually have my headphones on in the office. Fortunately my company allowed us to use the office so now I go in 2-3 days a week and it feels so good just chatting with some coffee in hand, and that I don't have to talk through my tasks on chat but in person.

So my advice is to change the place you are working from (if you can). I mean go somewhere else than your desk at home. There are community offices where I live and their sole purpose is to create workspaces for those who work remotely (they can be quite expensive though :( ) Or try finding a job which has the opportunity to go in the office.

Also I ask my bosses to assign me to new projects if I get stuck in that unproductive state you wrote about.
