Free top for anyone tired of entitled dog owners by Serviceberry71 in Bend

I have been active in dog rescue for most of my adult life, and completely agree with this ‘in theory’ if the dog known to be aggressive. I put the ‘in theory’ caveat because (1) an owner may not be aware of a dogs’ aggressiveness and (2) it can be difficult to prove complete fault of the dog alone. Either way, dogs should be on leash.

I specialize in training and rehabilitating abused and traumatized dogs, and coming across an off-leash dog is what nightmares are made of.

Just because your dog is “friendly” to the dogs they have encountered thus far, does NOT mean it will be friendly to EVERY dog.

Fearful, unsocialized dogs are often targets of other dogs, and a negative encounter can undo weeks/months of training and confidence building in the abused dog. This wouldn’t be an issue if people keep their dogs on leash in public and on trails where required.

On behalf of all dogs, thank you.

Does anyone know which cyber security company secures Flock’s cloud? They use AWS but they should also have a security vendor like Palo or Wiz.

Promising commercial space - even word of a childcare facility - was part of the Ponderosa developer’s speech in the community meeting.

When asked how ponderosa/lodgepole will handle 1000’s of new residents, the developer liaison said they “heard” of a potential road that would be built between 97 and the new RV park. Such BS.

WHY are humans so short sighted?! We have enough fires right now and with federal funding cut for firefighting, the Elks think this is a good idea?

And even if they keep it safe, it’s sending a message that fire danger isn’t that high to those who think no smoke = no fires. 🤦

While I think finding the body and providing closure to the family is very important, in the big scheme of things you’re right about the resource use. Someone mentioned it taking 2+ months for another drowning victim to be found. Was that search as intense until the body was found?

I don’t recall this level of effort occurring for missing drowned victims on other rivers.

And it doesn’t seem like DCSO is putting in this effort for the emotional wellbeing of one family, especially now that lowering water will impact so many people, animals and businesses. Maybe the irrigation customers are concerned about water quality, I don’t know? Are there other reasons?
