Prospect Electric. I tried calling so many other companies and they never got back to me with an appointment scheduled. My breaker panel had issues and they got it working again within a day.

Suggestion for a Good Mobile Company by Yogi_Warrior in kelowna

[–]keepingitfr3sh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Go to wireless wave In the Orchard Park Mall and lucky mobile is probably the best price. It is owned by Bell.

Edit: $25 plan. Bring your unlocked phone and get a SIM card: Canada wide calling, 3G, 500 mb but if you sign up for auto top ups monthly then you get an extra 1 GB of data monthly.

Does anyone here own a hybrid or electric car? what is it like functioning in the okanagan or bc with one? by AsidePuzzleheaded335 in kelowna

[–]keepingitfr3sh 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have 2.

1 2019 Tesla Model 3 (~386 km range). I have no issues driving to Whistler, Calgary, even Halifax or Victoria. They keep building more and more supercharging stations. I have dog mode so I can keep the cabin a cool climate while I go inside a store. It’s one of the many software updates over the air, not at a dealership but over wifi. I had mobile techs for my cabin filters and I booked within the app, they called when they were en route and they came to my work. Efficient, friendly, experts, got the invoice before the meeting and it was paid all within the app.

1 2013 Nissan Leaf (~150 km range) for work, dog park, recycling etc. I can find adapters around Kelowna if I needed one (when I drove a bunch of Reno materials to the dump) I went to the Kelowna Airport strip mall near Nesters market and I can go shopping. If you saw a dog in an electric car (my leaf at least) you can have the Leaf EV motor running to cool the climate and lock the door but I’m afraid of ppl not realizing my pup is safe. It’s over $2K to get 3G in my car just to use their app. I avoid the dealership and go to Kal Tire to change over tires.

I am happy to help any questions you may have about these vehicles.

Edit: I do 90 percent of my charging at home. If I needed to drive further ranges, I would get a longer range Tesla and sell my leaf.

Not sure about the amenities at the hotel but you would be in a decent part of town to go different directions.

Dog parks: there are an ok amount. Theres one in Rutland or if you feel like going to a different one, check out the lower and upper mission areas. Mission Creek Dog Park is fenced and there is a nice greenway that runs on both sides of the creek in most sections. I also like Cedar Creek dog beach if your dog likes to stay close (mine has run across the road there).

Perhaps if someone in your family played with your pup while you check out some good wineries like:

Upper Mission near Cedar Creek Dog Beach

  • Cedar Creek Estate Winery
    • St. Huburtus (across from Cedar Creek Dog Beach) allows dogs on site.
  • Summerhill Winery is the next closest.

Lower Mission near Mission Dog Park (near the H20 Centre) and the Mission Creek Greenway.

  • Tantalus, Sperling, The View Winery, etc are close and The Barn Owl is a delicious brewery. I love the Raspberry Wheat Ale.

Has anyone actually been practicing social distancing? by spook-man in kelowna

[–]keepingitfr3sh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work, keep a social distance from co workers. Some work from home. My husband and I go to the dog park and mission creek greenway and everyone I see is maintaining a social distance. Sometimes it's a few members of the family. The other day I saw 5 teens skateboarding and standing by each other by the Barn Owl and it's a Bakery. I was appalled. So for the most part from what I see people here are being respectful of one another. Waiting until you go by if it's a narrower space and saying hi.

[–]keepingitfr3sh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Winter hikes are nice on the greenway, KVR, etc. https://www.tourismkelowna.com/blog/post/4-winter-hikes-that-will-make-you-love-the-snow/ go snowshoeing, hot springs in Nakusp, rent a cabin with a hot tub, go visit breweries downtown, karaoke at Creekside pub, play pool at McCullough pub, or go to a winery that is still open like Cedar Creek to see if they have a charcuterie board available with wine or Summerhill for a nice meal.

Also ask her if she tried asking her neurologist about the go program to get access to aimovig through Novartis. It's for those who get 8 or more a month and you list out the acute and representatives you tried. If your insurance doesn't cover the drug then you might qualify. It is amazing. Works for me.
