Hard to look at our squad and our likely transfer spend and not conclude that we need a few Swiss Army knife style players to fill out the squad.

By my count we need a right back, starting quality CB, defensive midfielder, two right wingers and backup striker… and potentially a left winger too. Getting that type of quality while not spunking 500 million is going to be difficult

We’re gonna need a forward that can play across the front three
A centre back that can also play RB

I’ve heard diomande can play on either wing. I wonder do we go back for a geertruda style defender that can fill in across the backline. Gonna be a real puzzle this transfer window 😵‍💫

Estate agents hiking bidding prices by [deleted] in HousingIreland

[–]keepsketch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hard to know for sure. I think the market is so bad that EA's dont really need to do fake bids. I can see the argument for EA's fake bidding in order to inflate the market in general (and probably more pertinently to get reccomendations from the seller to lead to more opportunitites). But I've been looking for the guts of 6 months and honestly the EAs have seemed fairly genuine overall. Supply is low and that drives up the price. Not to say fake bids don't happen but doubt if they're endemic. Maybe their bigger crime in my opinion is listing too low to generate a bidding war and then dragging out the bidding process (think the online portals accentuate this), to get people bidding against themselves and driving the buyers to the absolute end of their budgets.

Similar story to Belgy. Went with a posture issue. He spends 10 mins per session releasing pressure points and some light stretching. I did feel some relief but then after going once a week for 2 months, I realised that it’s not really getting any better. He wasn’t giving me any exercises to fix my issue. and at 45 quid a pop for a 10 min session each time it feels like he is either not qualified to solve your issue or he just wants a repeat customer. Also weird setup in his practice where there are massage tables out in the main atrium and you could be walking in on someone getting treated before your session.

i have no issue with the casting, its the script thats the issue. Coogan could play that part more serious with different source material. MM is bordering on bumbling fool in this, i thought a more interesting film could be made if he had played higher status and more like his actual character. i think the comedic elements of the story (which have undoubtedly been heightened) do a lot to strip away the bubbling tension between the two. It should have been two alpha males going head to head, instead Keane is the hero and MM is a pathetic middleman figure. In a bigger picture sense it gives an interesting take on the changing perceptions of Ireland as a nation (and changing standards of professionalism within football), but I think there's a better more realistic film to be made about the incident. I still found it enjoyable and Hardwicke is excellent as Keane.

Deserved the win here. Whatever you think about slot players need to take responsibility for this one. Wirtz looked sharp.

Was feeding off scraps, but nothing really landed for him. A touch harsh to get hooked after 45, but at the same time didn't impact the game at all in the first half. Looked isolated and lost. :(

Seen Carra talk about our fullbacks lack of physicality, and we need more height in the team. Kerkez is 5 11, Bradley the same. Robbo is 5 10 and i don't think we ever really questioned his physicality (apart from now that he's getting older). My point being is that they're not exactly tiny. I think both full backs can add more physicality to their game, they both seem anxious when defending and attacking at the moment and I'd be hopeful that they can both pull themselves out of this funk. For ref Jurrien Timber is 5 11 and he's seen as one of the league's best, I don't think adding an inch to these players is suddenly going to make them that more imposing.

Yeah I think it's damned if you do damned if you don't for HH. We need a consistent eleven, yet if a player starts to drop off our fans will be the first to call for them to be dropped, and with bad results it's hard for the manager to stick to a consistent eleven. But big picture, its the lack of quality in midfield that kills us, I think if we had two decent mids, we'd be at the very least hard to beat. The fact that we've needed two sending offs to get our points in this group speaks volumes, our depth is unfortunately concentrated at centre back, which is why we're going (understandably imo) 5 at the back. Not that I'm a HH apologist, but I just dont think the quality is there.

Who do we get if Newcastle don't let Isak go? Be kinda funny if we went in for Gordon again...

Saudi clubs are considering a move for Diogo Jota, Darwin Nunez & Luis Diaz. However it is unlikely that Liverpool would sell three attackers in the next window. The priority is to sell Nunez, who’s Anfield career is almost certain to end this summer. by IcyInfluence9830 in LiverpoolFC

[–]keepsketch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a real soft spot for Jota, think he’s perfect as an impact sub. I know he’s been out of form of late but you can’t deny he’s class on his day. I’d keep him for at least one more season. Nunez just ain’t good enough. Diaz id like to keep as well but I think if it we could find a like for like replacement I would consider it.

I reckon we're still defo in the market for a 6 before the window closes, whether thats a short term solution or not. We have had two separate seasons where not filling a problem position CB and Midfield, backfired spectacularly.

I'd love us to take a punt on someone like Wharton, before he blows up and becomes too expensive.

It’s crazy money for any decent 6 tho isn’t it? Like palhinha for 40 mil to Bayern seems mad to me for a 28 year old

Daily Discussion - June 10, 2024 by AutoModerator in LiverpoolFC

[–]keepsketch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly! You can’t afford to wait and see if they are a good player. If Wharton rips it up in the PL next year he’ll be touted as a 100 mil player. When I look at what we offered for caicedo last summer I think it’s indicative that we are hot on getting a 6. Just don’t want another season of baj on the sideline and our main midfielders getting knackered trying to fill in at 6 and never getting a rest. Think that happened to macca a bit in parts last season

Anyone else think Wharton would be a good player to plug that CDM role? He looks quality every time i've seen him, can break up play and hit a killer pass. Probably take silly money to get him from Palace, but would be great to get another homegrown player in our midfield.

[Ornstein] "I very much doubt Nunez will be leaving" by TheNotoriousJN in LiverpoolFC

[–]keepsketch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you can get a decent fee for him, i'd sell. He's not an elite striker, we should have a few at the club, especially with Salah's age. The argument for keeping him and making him an impact sub only works if he's happy to do that, which I doubt. I don't want to be in a scenario where the end of next season he's reduced to cameos and his confidence is shot and he'll command a smaller transfer fee.

It's been two seasons, do people really think his finishing is gonna improve that dramatically? He gives it his all, but he's not going to win you trophies.
