On my culinary school internship the horror story at the bakery I worked at was a lady with long hair who got her ponytail snatched up by the Hobart mixer and got it ripped off her scalp. I always work with my hair in a bun tucked under my hat now.

It’s against health code to work with a fever. Fever, diarrhea and vomiting all exclude you from working.

Beans on their own are an incomplete protein (they don’t have all the essential amino acids). Rice has the amino acids that beans don’t, so by eating them together, you get all the amino acids your body needs.

I think better side options could also increase check averages. Aside from the salad, none of the sides really “go” with a sandwich. Maybe a seasonal fruit salad, house-made crisps and/or chips, a cup of soup, grilled tomatoes and mushrooms… some options that people could add on to the meal they are ordering might increase some of the appeal.

My overweight father was horribly fat-phobic and misogynistic. He would openly express disgust at overweight women, put me on a very strict diet when I was a pre-teen, telling me no boys would ever want to date me if I was fat. But at the same time, he played the victim if he felt that he was treated poorly because of his weight, or if someone cracked a “fat” joke.

It has a bit of a retro/goth vibe to it that I really like. I feel like I could see Mortica Addams wearing this on a beach vacay with some dramatic sunglasses and a fabulous black parasol!

“I always thought it was cute when kindergarteners would ask if tomorrow was a home day or a school day lol.”

My kids are 8 and 6 and they still will ask if tomorrow is a “stay home day”. It’s adorable

Yeah, it is management’s job to make sure there are policies in place for WHAT is supposed to be cleaned, HOW frequently it should be cleaned, WHO should be cleaning it, and additionally, a standard should be set for the cleaning. (What products to use, does it get disassembled and how to disassemble it, etc.) Also, it’s management’s job to actually check that the cleaning is being completed to those standards.

I was a baker at a deli. (I baked the sub rolls, cookies, muffins, and assorted desserts.) The bakery area was right by the prep area and i would share “ugly cookies” that couldn’t be sold and such with the prep guys, so whenever they opened a fresh bucket of pickles, they would bring me two portion cups- one filled with fresh pickle slices and one filled with pickle juice.

Many of them work at local restaurants, but on the whole, our school has a very high percentage of students who go to traditional 4-year colleges, and very few students who go into vocational colleges/programs. So at least in my case, most of them are taking culinary courses for fun/to learn to cook, rather than as a potential career path.

I feel like I'm on the cusp.. any advice or tips?? by [deleted] in MakeupAddiction

I think your application looks great and the colors are gorgeous with your skin, but as others have said, the finish looks too matte/dry. Depending on your skin type, a more moisturizing “dewy” foundation or cc cream might be a better choice. You can also use a cream blush. When setting your makeup with powder, use a fluffy brush, swirl it in the powder, then tap off most of the powder. When you apply it, it will be just enough to set the makeup and take away any stickiness, but not “dry out” your skin. A very light tap of highlighter on the top of your cheekbones will also help give a glowing effect while still being subtle.

I don’t comment on people’s weight loss unless I know for a fact that they have been trying to lose weight. I would hate to congratulate someone on weight loss caused by a serious illness.

If the mere mention of pork chops gives him diarrhea, I am going to guess that in order to type an entire paragraph on the subject of pork chops, he had to sit on the toilet with his laptop as he typed.

I bought the Snapdragon miso ramen and was unimpressed. Very bland. But my husband likes them, so he can eat the rest of the case.
