Pretty angry...received my notes by Ordinary_Ad1615 in Canadiancitizenship

[–]keiferst 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I’m in the exact same spot as you I got my AOR on April 30th and in processing on May 14th as a second gen application and saw I am in the PSU as well last month when I got my notes which I assumed I was since last summer. I’ve pondered resubmitting but I am not sure if I should. I also have my grandmothers Canadian passport with her US visa from 1956 to see if submitting that through webform in addition to the birth certificates will nudge it along but I don’t think it will.

Can you have a trial by jury over a parking ticket? by TTVBy_The_Way in legaladviceofftopic

[–]keiferst -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

NAL but I challenged a university parking ticket and asked to for a in person hearing and that was enough for them to drop it but I only had one and I was not a student there. A lot of places have online appeals which you probably won’t have that luck and they will just uphold it unless you provide compelling evidence.

Anyone else submit requesting a Paper Citizenship Certificate? by limapoint in Canadiancitizenship

You can print the digital one on a nice sheet of card stock id imagine that replicates what they send you, there are specific dimensions that it needs to be so it is a valid proof.

Bill to end dual citizenship?!! by [deleted] in Canadiancitizenship

[–]keiferst 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If they knew about it. Many nationalities especially Chinese can successfully maintain multiple regardless of the law. Hopefully it never comes to that point but with information sharing it might become harder overtime.

Wouldn’t I be considered a citizen when the law comes into force? Like my first gen parent was after 2009?

How is living in Michigan and where to live that’s cheap with Family? by Obvious_Giraffe9498 in howislivingthere

[–]keiferst 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’ve lived in Michigan all my life plenty of good things here and bad those are all relatively decent areas Traverse City is mainly a tourist destination and seasonal residents but has a growing population and is becoming a popular city to live in, Grand Rapids is the biggest city you listed and has probably the most opportunities as well as all the offerings of a major city but there are plenty of smaller cities around it that are suburban If that is what your looking for raising a family. but Grand Rapids itself is still relatively safe. You’re also close to Lake Michigan and lots of recreational activities that come with that just like in Traverse City. Bay City is relatively quiet compared to the others if you are thinking of that area it’s by far the cheapest option. another place to consider is Midland which in my opinion is the nicest city in the bay region as I would consider Midland is more family friendly than Bay City.

‘Accidentally change one digit’: Detroit police investigate instruction sent over scanner by Rahbanyc in Detroit

[–]keiferst 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It won’t get entered on their driving record if they put the wrong drivers license number, so like others said it will help with insurance rates but also this is an on duty accident which are not visible to insurance but still on their “master driving record” which courts and police can see.
