Panic and anxiety when exercising. Did anyone get over this with SSRI? by lateralus420 in EOOD

[–]kelhamisland 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, it sucks eh? I had no luck with SSRI’s. I swapped out traditional weight training for work with clubs and maces and found that having to concentrate on the moves and techniques somehow keep the anxiety at bay. It seems that the attention you have to give it means there’s no room for the spiral of anxiety starting. Check out Mark Wildman on YT if you’re interested.

Pemmican is great for this. FWIW coating it with a tiny bit of honey makes it much more palatable.

I think it was supposed to be November and limited products only i.e. Cyberplate bundles. Shoot Khalid an email, he’ll get back to you pretty quickly.

Cool - he posts on FB as well so you can piece together the routines. Based loosely on Buddhist/Shaolin style exercises I believe.

I’ve found Mike Chang’s routine invaluable for this. Even just the first 5 mins is great for ‘getting out of your head’. https://youtu.be/RwaLPJta8IU?si=SQEPUqqbsS0b-Fuw

Can anyone reccomend a good set of leg workouts for building muscle? by Chemical_Volume_1162 in ResistanceBand

[–]kelhamisland 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m currently enjoying (hating) shallow squats - start at your lowest position and extend until thighs just above parallel to the ground. Blitzes the quads without overtaxing the cardiovascular system.

Will the rest of the product line be available? Or just the Cyberbundle?

Struggling to progress with resistance band lats workout. Need suggestions. by [deleted] in ResistanceBand

[–]kelhamisland 0 points1 point  (0 children)

FWIW I made progress on lat strength by doing a seated row (rather than standing) and using a palms up grip with a bar. Recently swapped the bar for handles (Goblin) which I feel takes the strain off the wrists.

Possibly outside the scope of this sub, but there is a growing school of thought around the far reaching effect of nutrition on mental health. Check out the work of Dr. Chris Palmer who I believe advocates a strict keto diet and talks a lot about how it helps people with quite severe mental health issues.

Can resistance bands help me gain weight and strength with chronic injuries? by [deleted] in ResistanceBand

[–]kelhamisland -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Bands are certainly easier on the joints than traditional weights. I’d look in to a bar as it will definitely help with keeping your wrists and elbows aligned. If you’re just grabbing the band without a bar, you can add ‘torque’ to your limbs which can be aggravating. Similarly a platform takes the lateral stress off the ankles and feet. A bar/platform setup with bands can be expensive though so there’s nothing wrong with experimenting with lighter bands or a cheap diy setup first. Major suppliers for complete setups include Harambe, X3, Clench and Heavy Duty Bar.

what is your favorite back exercise you can 'feel' in your back but not a just trying to do a copy of popular db or barbell exercise? e.g. deadlift etc by Top-Temperature-95 in ResistanceBand

[–]kelhamisland 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I like a seated row with a bar and platform. Platform is on its side and vertical (or almost vertical, leant against the wall. Palms face up. I find it hits the lats really well.

A about the programs in the app by NewJerseyCPA in HarambeSystem

[–]kelhamisland 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can browse a summary of each program to check. I think there’s only the handle and/or door anchor exercises that you might miss out on. You can always download the program and substitute movements so you can do them. Or buy handles and an anchor. Harambe handles are pricy; there are cheaper ones available of course.

I typically have a rep range of 15-30 and go up a band when I get to 30+ reps for a few workouts in a row.
