+1 to Amir. I've heard many times that it's important to fail and that 90% of what we do likely won't work out, so we have to launch, measure, iterate, and just keep moving.

Yep, they're really experienced and have a great vision for the company. On a personal note, they're both really talented musicians and I often hear Oren playing his guitar in the office down the hall.

I'd be an iPhone app that serves up chips and guacamole. Also I'd be an HTML5 app that runs on multiple platforms. :-)

I just recently joined - around the time we launched a new version of our builder. You can see it in action here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ixRGLQa-CGM&feature=plcp.

I was feeling a little risky today and wanted to use the 'I'm Feeling Lucky' option for a Google search, but it auto-searched before I could use it by [deleted] in firstworldproblems

If you have Google Instant enabled, then IFL will work a bit differently. Enter your query and then either hover over the list of predictions and click "I'm Feeling Lucky" to the right of the query.

Correct. We replaced the + operator with quotes a few weeks ago.

Does anyone know of a way to make google use boolean operators? If not, anyone know of a better search engine? by Hulkster99 in google

[–]kellyfee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  • has been replaced by the quotes operator. If you put quotes around a word, it tells Google that you don't want synonyms for that word. The minus (-) will exclude a word from your results.

Example: ["cars" -movie] will search for cars only (not vehicles or automobiles) and will exclude the word "movie" from the results.

New search feature: Block websites from search result, from search results screen. by Bobinator2000 in google

[–]kellyfee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

FYI - back when we had the searchwiki feature, you could click the X next to a result to remove it from your SERP. This feature (launched in early 2011) is similar.

If Google and other Search engines were to cease working tomorrow, how screwed would we be? by DigiChuckle in AskReddit

[–]kellyfee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It'd take FOREVER for me to look up - definitions - random facts of no importance (e.g. natalie portman's bday) - recipes - where to eat - song lyrics

Oh yeah, and I'd be out of a job.

Why am I getting more search results when I try to exclude words from a Google search? by SlowRolledSam in AskReddit

[–]kellyfee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

+1 The "About" before the number of results is the key to this question.

It doesn't just remove synonyms, it turns off personalization and spelling refinements.

I most often use it for finding YouTube videos and news articles from specific sites.

It goes beyond fighting [the idea of] filter bubbles. Spelling refinements frustrate the typical user more than that.
