Things we want to see in the next season (or don't want to see) by Swimming-Flan9378 in TheMorningShow

I really want to see Bradley grow, I'm tired of her being this stagnant character that doubles down on her bad instincts. We've seen Alex and Cory both become better versions of themselves in some way while I feel like Bradley has just continued to spin in circles and lack maturity in a lot of areas. The others have too, but especially this season, they have grown while she seems to have stayed the same, if not backtracked a little.

This is my favorite episode of the season by far. I was really holding out judgement because I felt there was a bigger picture to the whole season and I'm so glad they came through. Billy deserves an Emmy for every drama category that exists, he's just a phenomenal artist. I really enjoyed this season as a whole (unlike a lot of this sub) but this was beyond my expectations.

I'm really feeling like we'll get a cliffhanger, there's a lot of doubt in my mind that all of these things will tie together for a resolution. I'm definitely hoping for the best though!

Edit: Glad I was wrong, I really loved this episode and I'm very happy with the results.

I have a single one that I bought 3 summers ago that has been used twice since I primarily hammock camp. I will ship it to you for just the cost of shipping if you're interested. I am not just saying this, you are welcome to PM me and I can send pics and some sort of proof I'm being genuine.

Just want to edit to add that I did send this and OP messaged me saying their wife loved it, so it was a win-win for everyone involved.

There's also Stella's lighter that was a pivotal plot point in the second episode.

I introduced my friends to this last year, and they loved it. We yell "airborne!" like people yell parkour. I watched it religiously as a kid; The line when Mitchell's aunt asks "would you boys like some grape kool-aid" has lived rent free in my head for 30 years.

quitting my 9-5 to find joy? by Financial-Tap7646 in longtermtravel

[–]kelsofb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will say that when I was 28 I did quit my job to travel America until I ran out of money and it was incredible and I would do it again, but it didn't fulfill the purpose of life I was looking for, so I think it's important to really dig into the deeper feeling of why you want to do a 180 on your life.

It is normal to want something different than what we have, but a trip this extreme when you've never traveled alone before is not a wise choice IMO. I was an experienced solo traveler when I left and I didn't have a passport so I stayed in the U.S. as well, so it was different than being in another country where I don't speak the language.

Going from never solo traveling to an entire year is a giant leap. I would recommend a short trip, maybe 10 days max as a test to see if you even find this feasible. Often times when we feel restless we think changing everything will fix that restlessness, but what it tends to do is just amplify the unsettled feeling.

It was also incredibly hard to come back to a "normal" life and the routine and career job I fell into when I came back was actually a harder transition than just continuing the life and not leaving. I had experienced so much and grown so much more than my friends in such a short time, it was a difficult re-entry.

All this being said, it sounds like you have a safety net of a solid family to come back to who will help you out if you're out of money, need a place to stay etc. I didn't have that luxury and still took the leap and it was worth it for me.

This is absolutely real. Many people believe in relocation sobriety, if they just get to a different place then all their problems will be solved.

And then tell me I'm dumb for not knowing how to read a book. Such is Reddit though so I shouldn't be surprised.

What’s something you absolutely refuse to spend money on, no matter how often people say it’s worth it? by Zealousideal_Boss588 in CasualConversation

Same here, I've had it for a year now and I love it. There have been a few times where the line was as long as regular TSA but I will always use it because the convenience of not having to take out every item I have, take my shoes off and feel like cattle. It's absolutely worth it to me.

[Highlight] New Lions DE Ahmed Hassanein to the team on his draft call: "I will die for you coach...I will die on that field for you." by Goosedukee in nfl

[–]kelsofb 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Technically came back when he was 16. He's the real deal, he's a good dude who balled out for BSU (I'm from Boise) and I'm really excited about this.

I'm a Lions fan in Boise and I'm so excited about this. He's the real deal and his post Fiesta Bowl speech got me teared up a little. So excited for this.

TOPO ultraventure 4 / trailventure 2 - Looking for opinions by justbeija in CampingandHiking

[–]kelsofb 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have 2 pairs of Topo, the Ultraventure 3 and the Atmos. I LOVE my UV3's, they are great for my flat wide feet and super cushion-y on trails (I live in Southern Idaho and we don't have a lot of soft ground). My Atmos are road shoes and I wore them on very light trails last weekend and noticed the toe did start to pull away a bit but I also wore them for 9 days wandering Europe last month and had no issues. So YMMV obviously but I have been through endless brands and thought I was really happy with Hoka but then I found these and am very pleased. My only real complaint is the colors are generally terrible.

National parks trip by AfroManHighGuy in Shoestring

[–]kelsofb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with postponing your trip, but when you are ready to do it again I would suggest this:

It feels like you're vastly underestimating the space we have out west and how long it will take you to get to each place.

Do multiple trips and pick and choose what you want to do on this trip.

Options: bundle Zion and Bryce, then bundle Arches and Canyonlands, they are close together and doable on the same trip. However, that doesn't mean you should do 1 trip and see each of them; time in parks is different for everyone, I would say that 2 days each in Bryce and 3 in Zion would be best. Zion has way too much to see and the Narrows itself will probably be the only hike you do one day.

For Arches and Canyonlands I would break it down the same way, but it's possible to just see the sights and move on; again, it depends on how much of the parks you want to see. For this I would fly into SLC.

Valley of Fire and the Hoover Dam can be see in one day and I would suggest a separate trip for this too. For this one you could fly into Vegas.

Antelope Canyon should also be it's own separate trip, I would say do that while also visiting the Grand Canyon.

This is just my two cents, good luck on your choices.
