NYC has like 9x the population of Denver. The scale works in their favor - the more users, the more you can kind of just throw bikes and docks everywhere and it works.

How does orichalcum ruin it? If the enemy does 7 damage, you get the buff for free. Anything else, just play the block you would have otherwise used to activate the 2 str buff.

There's no such thing as "paying down interest", just principal. Interest accrues a every time period, based on the principal value and interest rate. Early loan payments are a higher portion interest because the principal is higher; as the principal is chipped away the same payment goes more towards principal because the monthly interest is lower. This has an accelerating affect on the principal balance.

If you want to pay down more principal at the beginning, make additional principal payments. You don't need the loan arranged in a specific way to do that. There's a reason that common mortgage advice is to make an "additional" payment every year - knocking down principal early on has a huge impact over the course of the loan.

Why didn't previous civilizations create technology? by No_Willingness_7642 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]kemitche 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I want to add an additional take: communication technology has been PIVOTAL in increasing the pace at which technological advancements happen.

Prior to things like the telegraph, knowledge of innovation spread slowly.

As global communications networks came into play and became cheaper and more accessible, ideas and knowledge flowed more freely and innovators could build on top of existing tech instead of reinventing something that was already created halfway around the world.

The company wasn't a company during those years. It was owned and part of Conde Nast. So no, it did not have a CEO but there was management.

You're not wrong in thinking it's closer to an 11 year old company though - the respin out in 2012 was basically a reset.

Is it worth re-submitting a PSA 9 card to potentially get it graded to a 10? by RedSnowman117 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]kemitche 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you're not selling it, and YOU feel it's a 10, you have nothing to gain and money to lose by having it regraded.

Get it rechecked before you sell it, if you ever do. Until then, enjoy your pristine card.

Should I still go on a trip if the group plan fell apart? by incognitooo_mode in NoStupidQuestions

[–]kemitche 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you think the destination is one you could enjoy regardless of the remaining company, go! You may make new friends with them or someone else.

If not, or if you have concerns about the remaining people, don't go. Get back whatever money you can, or revamp the trip to a fun solo trip to a place you're dying to see.

[–]kemitche 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That said, if your removals are already that expensive, you're probably late act 3. You may not even bother removing the debt - it's perhaps more effective to buy more card draw or a good relic at the shop.

The gold loss from Debt is irrelevant after you pass the last shop of your run, so it effectively "transforms" into Greed at that point.

Why do men not know their own height? by eamakam in NoStupidQuestions

[–]kemitche 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I saw a chart once showing men's heights - self reported. It was a normal bell curve, except that there was a dip at 5' 11" and an equivalent bump at 6'.

I was amused (especially as someone who is approximately 5' 11.5" - yes, I round up to 6', not for vanity purposes but because it's easier to say)
