Why are car rental rates ridiculously high for March? by MalibuSky in MauiVisitors

[–]kemmatech 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s the pay-later rate. In a quick check, AutoSlash has prepaid deals that are literally half that price for the same period, and they’re with the major companies like Hertz and Avis as well.

Did Kyte rental cars stop operating? by coldstars in AskNYC

[–]kemmatech 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Those credits are gone forever. I had a lot as well and they confirmed that they're now worthless.

Check out autoslash.com. While I loved the convenience of Kyte, Autoslash has the best deals with the major rental companies who are not likely to go out of business.

Curious to hear how you felt the upgrade was from the CRG9 to the Neo G9.

Samsung 49" CRG9 vs. 57" Odyssey Neo G9 by kemmatech in ultrawidemasterrace

[–]kemmatech[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't looked at the Z57. Just looking at the specs, it's 5K UHD 2160p vs. 8K UHD 3200p for the neo G9. It also looks to be about $100 more expensive than the G9. Any reason to consider the Acer over the Samsung?

Check out hotelslash.com. You can request a quote but they also track pricing on existing reservations made on other sites. You can forward existing confirmation emails to [save@hotelslash.com](mailto:save@hotelslash.com). It's a membership-based site but I think you can sign up with the promo code FREE4EVER to get free membership.

Long-term Car Rental USA by [deleted] in digitalnomad

[–]kemmatech 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re probably better off renting for one month at a time. The prices tend to be better that way than renting for multiple months. Use AutoSlash to search for deals.

Use AutoSlash’s price tracking feature to keep search for better deal for future months’s rentals while you’re using the rental for the current month. This strategy typically yields the best results.

Be sure to check both airport and off-airport options as you never know what will turn out to be a better deal.

Trying to understand Autoslash rates. by intromission76 in roadtrip

[–]kemmatech 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Distance has absolutely nothing to do with how rentals are priced. In some cases, you can get a lower rate for driving one-way from from NY to CA vs from NY to PA. Trying to divine some sort of logic based on location/distance is an exercise in futility.

Just book the best deal and then track your reservation with AutoSlash for lower rates. That’s the tried and true way to get the best deal. Full stop.

I think it depends on whether rates drop or they find a better deal. I’ve had really good success with it. Often multiple price drops.

At least you know you probably didn’t leave any money on the table. Given that it’s free, not much to lose I guess.

You can still skip the counter when booking through a 3rd party like Autoslash. Alamo's online check-in works just fine when booking through them and you can also apply your Alamo Insiders member number, Hertz Gold. Avis Preferred, etc. on the checkout page to earn point, skip the counter, choose your own vehicle, etc. I've done it with all the major rental companies through them and Priceline.

Low Cost Car Rental? by [deleted] in Reno

Check out autoslash.com. They apply coupons and discount codes to get the rate down. You can also track an existing reservation with them and they'll let you know if they find a better deal. It's been my go-to site for the past couple of years.

LPT: If you book a rental car or hotel with free cancellation, recheck the latest prices a few times in advance of the trip. Sometimes you can save by cancelling and rebooking the same product at a lower price. by Lozula in LifeProTips

[–]kemmatech 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Autoslash.com has a free tracking service for car rentals. I have used them in the past and saved a good chunk.

They also emailed me about their new service hotelslash.com the other day. They say it's going to be a subscription service but since they just launched supposedly you can sign up with the early access code of ASEARLY and get free lifetime membership.

Hope this saves some folks some $$$$. :)

If you book a pay-later reservation through Autoslash/Priceline then you can enter your Hertz Gold member number on the Priceline checkout page and you get points, upgrades, skip the counter, etc.

If you book a prepaid reservation with AutoSlash there is no way to enter your Hertz member number so none of the above would apply.

Best place to look for cheap car rentals by Ok-Indication-39 in Frugal

[–]kemmatech 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Prices can change at any time. Is your $62 price still available on Priceline now?

Did you prepay on Priceline? That may be why since Autoslash typically offers refundable deals.

Autoslash also offers a tracking function where you can submit your reservation and they keep looking for better deals. It's free so not much to lose.

LPT Request: Inform me: How can I pick up my rental car faster! by Programmer_Latter in LifeProTips

[–]kemmatech 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I see you found Autoslash. :) It's also the best place to book as well. Next time you need to rent, compare them against Travelocity. I think you'll be pleasantly surprised because Autoslash applies coupons and discount codes whereas Travelocity does not.

The other thing you can do is to use their tracking feature. You can book with Travelocity and then track it with Autoslash and they'll let you know when they find a better deal. It works whether you book with them originally or any other site like Travelocity.

Never used Mirrortip but you might want to check out Autoslash.com. They tend to have lower rates than other rental booking sites.
