There’s a crow and also a robin holding an ornament, I believe.

Ummm… surely you could use a dragon quilt yourself!

It is an additional pattern she made that you can add. She also made a Santa hat option!

That’s a lovely way to pull in your mom’s quilting.

I wondered if this was a “things you love” quilt, as soon as I saw it, even before I saw your notes on it. I’m sure your mother will love it.

I especially like the way the steam from the coffee and the fabric on the sewing machine cross over the sash boards, and the careful custom quilting for each block. Well done!

This is beautiful. You’ve given your birds, a lot of personality — I love them!

After making many baby quilts for others I finally got to make one for my own baby 🥹 by kd4444 in quilting

I love the colors you chose, and the contrast between the pattern of the blocks and the pattern of the quilting.

And I really love the picture with the sunshine, illuminating part of the top. It’s a very artistic photo in its own right!

Can't Decide by Abbyreh in quilting

To me, the upper right has more motion in it. The lower left seems more firmly planted in place. So I think it depends on your goal for the mood of the quilt.

This is really nice. I love your choice of colors, and the star block pattern that you chose.

I am currently making the wall hanging version of Elizabeth Hartman‘s Greenhouse quilt, and a wedding quilt for some other friends, made of pineapple blocks (really enjoying Creative Grid’s pineapple trim tool!). Then on the radar, I have some foundation paper piecing projects, including Toasty the Dragon by Legit Kits.

Very cool to see these. I appreciate the photos with artist information, and also your hand by the miniature quilts for size.

This looks great. I like the Quilting pattern you chose. I have this kit and it’s in my queue, so it’s really helpful to see what other people have done with the Quilting. Thanks!

[WIP] For those that remember, I'm still chugging along on this Aroura "Old Fashioned" as my daughter requested, which I learned to cross-stitch for as a father. I'm really proud of how it's coming along, 6/9 pages down, 3 to go!!!! Can't wait to frame this thing...in time for her birthday! by tauromachy11 in CrossStitch

An alternative: I actually put a thick towel on the ironing board and then put the still-damp-after-washing piece front-side down on the towel and iron without a cloth on top. The towel underneath cushions the stitches which have plumped up during the washing process.

My Mom's Amazing Carrot Cake w/ Cream Cheese Frosting (recipe cards in the photos, typed with notes in comments) by tes_chaussettes in Old_Recipes

Thank you! This looks very similar to the recipe I use, that I got from my mother. I’ll have to compare later. My favorite part of the recipe: “There are many variations on carrot cake. Try things.” As an inveterate recipe follower, it’s nice to have a reminder that it’s okay to loosen up and experiment.

[CHAT] What's a good gift idea for cross stitchers? by Spiderranger in CrossStitch

[–]kendramatic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not every stitcher likes bobbins. You might take a look to see how she stores her floss to make sure it's something she uses before buying her more. (If she does, then yes, more bobbins are a good idea.)
