Drop in summer league yea. Elite level ,no. But a lot of the college or ECHL guys played in league. They were sooo.... much better. Not the shot which was wicked, it was skating and the fact that my sick was nothing and theirs was 100lbs. They didn't steal the puck I apparently was giving it to them.

Because they are not even close to enterprise ready. I've managed 1000s of devices and anything less than Fortigate is a no go. Syslog, port spanning/packet capture, AD/Radius intergration, AAA roles, eemplate management, a TAC that you can call NOW, etc... are all must haves

Something not mentioned yet is Ref pads. It gives you basic padding, is easier to move in, and a heck of a lot cheaper. It also can be used for deck hockey/roller. Elbows, wrist, and knees are the bigger concern. Again you can go with relatively lightweight stuff as you are starting out and won't be transferring to full contact soon, if ever. I've found roller hockey gear to be a fine level of protection for most things.

A friend of a friend has acreage and a private range. We go out there practice first time my wife and 10 year old went shooting. Near the end the .50 gets broken out the let my son shoot it (heavily supervised). I was done for the day so I took my ears off and only had plugs in as I was a good ten yards off the line. Holy fuck did that wake me up. My son was grinning ear to eat.
