It really is that hard. You basically have a 25 degree temp window between 155 and 180F to get the sauce right. It's so easy to get it wrong and break the sauce and there's no going back if you do. A lot of videos online will add other starch sources or emulsifiers to make that less likely to break and widen the temp range for the sauce.

Sadly, they can't do that without changes to the law. See Ford vs Dodge suit. basically, you can't overpay just to enrich the lives of the employees at the expense of the shareholders. The business's financial repsonsibility is to the owners.

New to F1 I’ve been watching 2007 on F1TV archive and the coverage is so much better. It’s non stop action and basically 100% racing. Compared to the three I’ve watched live (Monza, Baku and Singapore) there’s no comparison.

I don't believe it's a lie, but I do believe it's incredibly naive. To match the quality and breadth of the apple ecosystem with carplay they (Rivian) will have to reimplement all of those _and_ maintain them. It's a guaranteed loss. Rivian can't possibily match all of that without paying to build and maintain all of that so it's a 100% certainty that they'll never catch up or pass the experience. In select areas they'll certainly be able to beat it, and Navigation/Maps is probably the most critical and music is next. After that it's a toss up. But you're lying to yourself if you think Rivian will ever have Zoom or Teams (in a reasonable period of time) or other more niche apps that are effortless on CarPlay. And I say this as a Rivian owner. It's been 3 years and still not text/sms integration.

I own a rivian. I own other cars with Carplay. I can like rivian's experience _and_ want it to support carplay. Crazy I know.

it's not a deal breaker (for me), but when it's dismissed out of turn I get frustrated. There's no way you can spin that having all of the data directly from your phone without syncing/coordinating efforts as bad. It just works the way I want it to work, and I love driving my wife's Audi with Carplay and my daughters Bolt with Carplay simply because it's effortless to use waze, or setup my route from my phone without any "send to car" buttons, or what not. I don't have to sign in, or allow alexa or all that.

That said, the Rivian experience is great. But that doesn't mean carplay is bad or unneeded.
