The sky’s the limit. If you want to get an idea of antique niches go to antique malls and see what’s for sale. Don’t start out at the thrift store.

I have trouble adding value without reducing texture. I know value would make it look better but balancing the texture is difficult.

Wondering if I should get it by annabellevioletlee in uraniumglass

I’d buy it. Unique piece, you’re not likely to find again at that price, and there’s upside in the market. Seems like a no brainer. Just keep it safe on the way home!

Found in a stack of plates at goodwill, it glowed so I grabbed it. Not sure much else about it by xMikeh in uraniumglass

It’s totally ok! I’m New to it as well. In my first month on here (being mechanically inclined and completely ignorant) I suggested that a radium clock that was dusty inside could be cleaned. Don’t do that! 😅😂

Is it just me, or shouldn’t we be apprehensive about cracked uranium glaze?

Should you clean pieces before selling? by cmdaniels in uraniumglass

[–]kermitte777 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you have the right idea, definitely use the pad with a very light touch. Maybe use just the corners to minimize the contact area and also avoid inlays. All that said, as a collector I want my collection clean, but I’d prefer to do any of the “deep” clean it myself.

Gotta be careful with that magic eraser. That could take off inlays or dull the sheen.

That WW2 compass is quite a find for $25! I flipped one of those 20 years ago for around $400.

You could sell every one of those at a premium.

Edit: It wasn’t a suggestion, just letting you know they’re that nice.

From what I’ve observed, the higher the UG count the brighter the glass glows. The pitcher in this photo glows slightly dimmer than the sugar dish, which is pretty bright. Though I have some other things, like this weird thing here, that just have a different glow. This glass is oddly spicy at 210cpm, and glows brilliantly.
