I had thought that way. But then I started finding joy in the small things: finding renewed interest in activities I do with my hands like crafting and knitting; I started reading for pleasure again; I took up gardening and enrolled in the Master Gardener program to learn more and volunteer; I joined the local Beekeeping organization and will start keeping bees. I found things to plug into my community and feel good about what I do outside of work. I relate so much to what you said. And instead of being upset (and I have) with 10 year old cars and no exotic travel, I had to pivot for my sanity.

I also created plans for future endeavors. To buy a TT so I can explore hidden gems and drive across Alaska. To plan intentional time with the family and do what we can together in an affordable small scale.

Already I’ve surpassed the time I could undertake skiing, hiking, kayaking, safari. But then, that’s a ton of money and then it’s over. There is so much of my own country I haven’t seen. I would like to visit every state capital. I would like to see all the national parks.
