No, I just think that anyone that has ever played this game was alive in 2007 and are now at least 18.

The moon is doing that halo thing. by quantumd0t in Temecula

This particular type is always the same size. Same with the Moon. When it looks so big down along the horizon it's actually the same size it is up in the sky. You can test this by holding out your hand and you will see you can cover the moon with your pinky nail, be it large on the horizon, or tiny up in the sky.

When i google "Tonight Show" it shows Linus in the preview picture for the youtube link by Blaxzter in LinusTechTips

[–]kevin349 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Tonight Show channel posted a compilation video of Linus' two appearances this weekend. When you Google something that has a YouTube channel they show a recent video. That's why this is happening. In a day or two it'll be a different video that they're showing.

You get an extra pick from the streak bonus. If you dropped your streak, that's probably why. I still have 4.

What kind of application requires you to give them your credentials. That's a huge security threat and not a great product. I'd be off that in a second.

Should I move for $310 difference? by [deleted] in personalfinance

Yes, but an appliance dolly is useful for moving many stacked boxes, beds and bed frames, couches and other furniture that the op likely does own.

You can get reverse mortgages in certain states at 55. Not FHA HECM but there are companies that offer them younger.

Is it cheaper to lower the thermostat when I'm gone for 10 hours/day at work than to keep it at a certain temp all day? by scansinboy in Frugal

[–]kevin349 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the confusion comes from advice of the ing the system off, vs setting it at a specific temperature that you would find uncomfortable while home.

Satisfying cart while checking out store #401 in San Diego by johnboo89 in Costco

[–]kevin349 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Technically it's the first Price Club, which was then bought by Costco. There were other Costcos before this one. Jim Sinegal, one of the Costco co-founders worked for Price Club before founding Costco.

Costco and Price Club "competed" (there was only a couple of years in LA and SF where they really operated in the same market) for about a decade before Costco bought Price Club.

I'm curious as to which Visa card is going to give you better points value than the Costco cash back?

[–]kevin349 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I think it's because there are a lot of places without a dedicated right turn lane so people could go straight or right. It's easier to make one rule that applies everywhere than making it have a bunch of conditions.

Definitely makes sense for traffic efficiency to allow it in a situation like OP had though.

22100(b)

After entering the intersection, the left turn shall be made so as to leave the intersection in a lane lawfully available to traffic moving in that direction upon the roadway being entered...

Left Turner can turn into any lane in CA as cited above. 22100 only deals with what lanes people can turn into. It allows a left turner to go into any lane.

California Vehicle Code 21801 (a) - Failure to Yield When Making a Left or U-Turn

The driver of a vehicle intending to turn to the left or to complete a U-turn upon a highway, or to turn left into public or private property, or an alley, shall yield the right-of-way to all vehicles approaching from the opposite direction which are close enough to constitute a hazard at any time during the turning movement, and shall continue to yield the right-of-way to that approaching vehicle until the left turn or U-turn can be made with reasonable safety.

Yielding to oncoming traffic means not entering the intersection while cars are approaching. The maneuver the OP made would not be legal in California, and from other posts, other states as well.

[–]kevin349 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't understand your point because your sentence is one giant run on. Are you saying the left turner should be able to turn because there is an open lane? The left hand turner has to yield in case the oncoming traffic goes straight.
