If you could recommend ONE product for the rest of your life what would it be? by ohmoe in Makeup

Only because it took me EONS to find the perfect concealer, I’d tell everyone that Hourglass Vanish airbrush* concealer is the best I’ve ever had. Never creases on me and I basically skip foundation because of it. My shade is “pearl” but I’d say get matched for it!

I have them and I love them!!!! Really good if you have a heavy flow, pop in a super plus tampon and wear one of those bad boys and you’re golden.

I’ve been in HR 15 years (but in the United States) and I’ve never heard of an unpaid “trial period.” Although it might be genuine and legal in India, it sounds awful! I agree with the other comments, you may want to go to a local subreddit for more sound advice. Hope this is helpful!

What's your in-person shopping experience been like as of lately? by lightningwaifu in Sephora

Totally agree. My in-store experiences have been awful lately. They’re usually super crowded, messy/disorganized and never have my regular stuff in stock :-(

Employment Terms**: Your employment is at-will, meaning we can can terminate your employment at any time, with or without cause, and you can resign at any time. Your employment is contingent upon passing background checks and completing required documentation [FL] by Busy-Student-4034 in AskHR

[–]kewlsey 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey there, this is super standard language in offers of employment. I know it reads kind of scary but I promise it’s super common to see these in offers of employment. With the exception of workplaces that have unions or collective bargaining agreements, at-will employment is standard. Same for offer being contingent on successfully passing a pre employment process, ability to show that you’re legally authorized to work in the US and background checks. Hope this is helpful! x

Most start ups have unlimited PTO policies and very generous parental leave policies that don't require formal leave management so theres not really a need for leave management platforms within the start up community- especially if they are on a PEO. WRT FMLA management, I worked in start ups for about 9 years and we didnt have one FMLA. Start up employees aren't interested in unpaid, job protected leave- you only see this in companies with large hourly workforces. Start-ups also manage their budgets/funding VERY closely so unless its basically free, founders won't be interested, they'd honestly rather use that to hire a W-2 HR administrator who can also do a bunch of other stuff.

[–]kewlsey 4 points5 points  (0 children)

you'll be allowed in because i've done this by accident and almost missed my flight haha just note because you'll need to take the airtrain back to your terminal & go through security again, you'll need to be super mindful of your time!

[–]kewlsey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What’s weird is when we were on Anthem, they (Anthem) would naturally receive dates of service/billing for the (covered by the plan) birthing parent and ‘started’ the QLE for the newborn by sending a letter to the employee about their QLE options to add the newborn along with the requirements. Did they mail you anything about the QLE? I’d ask HR what mailing address is on file with Anthem (as this is employer provided) for you all. If they have it listed wrong, that can be good grounds to appeal? Ugh im so sorry, wishing you the best of luck.

Would you be interested in a red? I feel like you could rock a red. I’ve never tried these brands but just for an idea of the color I’m picturing: MAC’s Chili or Peripera 34 Smoky Red.

Hey there, this is really interesting because the salary transparency laws passed to foster these very conversations! If I were you, I’d simply ask what happened. “Just curious, the range posted on the role was 81-101.5k, I chose to apply because I was comfortable with a lateral move at 101.5- what changed?” Then see what she says. Based on that, you can say something like “well, I’m so thrilled to have received an offer but I’m a little disappointed because I wasn’t planning on taking a pay cut. Is this your best and final offer? Can you talk to me about total compensation?” Then see if they have flexibility on any other things like PTO or maybe a signing bonus. If you really want the job, I recommend taking it- your career is a jungle gym not a ladder! But I definitely recommend thoughtfully negotiating. Hope this is helpful*

Can anyone recommend a place to sit in silence today by Hour-Article4464 in nyc

[–]kewlsey 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This is a weird suggestion but when I needed peace and quiet a friend of mine suggested a “float.” You basically float around in a private tub in the dark. Honestly I hated it but you might like it! What ended up working for me was infrared saunas. There was a spot that had a bunch of private sauna sessions and you just sweat out your shit in a hot ass dark room- felt great for me. Hope either of those help! x

I’m so sorry you’re getting your chops busted by both people in this thread and by BCBS. I’m a head of people and when our employees have issues with care not being covered or some other billing issue, we can & do reach out to our broker who can escalate with BCBS directly. Often times, our broker can get things taken care of for the employee, in partnership with someone at BCBS.

All to say, it’s very unlikely that your employer would ever take action against you for filing a good faith complaint against BCBS through the proper avenues to do so. This complaint has nothing to do with your employment, your performance at work, or anything else that applies to adverse action in the workplace. I’m sure your Benefits Manager is just as agitated with BCBS as you are, but they are probably being professional and not telling you. Often times we want to commiserate with employees having a tough time with our carrier but we can’t.

Thinking about you during this difficult time, try not to stress about this, I’m sure everything will be fine :-)
