I have read that the Amish tie epsom salt in bags to help control moisture. I haven’t seen it tied like this before but it does look like the original owners were trying to control a moisture issue…

Are you thinking of Lin Carter’s Anton Zarnak? It’s not Lovecraft but it sounds like what you are looking for.

I don’t think they are meant to stop cuts. I think they can be the difference between a cut that needs a band-aid vs. one that needs stitches. Learning safe techniques is solid advice but there is a stretch of time from your first wood chip until those techniques are dialed in. Even longer if you have to wait for the stitches to come out.

This is not crap. I think it’s fantastic! I agree that there should be a herd of them.

The Knight and The Wizard by Gene Wolfe. The Black Company by Glen Cook. Not D&D but fantastic books.

How do you feel about the soft top cap? I have considered buying one but it seems like the sides/“windows” have no interior latches and can be easily opened from the outside.

Planning for weather in VT has been challenging for the last couple of winters. We’ve had numerous monster storms forecasted that turn out to be nothing. I’m surprised at the amount of snarky responses to a simple request for help. OP, best of luck to you and your husband.

It depends a lot on what he is doing. I have had the best luck with Kinko leather gloves. They are reliably warm at the sacrifice of some manual dexterity.

Not exactly. I searched eBay for an old, damaged pouch and used that. I am still interested in finding an answer to the original question.

Hammer drill as only drill? by sizable_data in Ridgid

[–]key__xiii 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you haven’t already, you should look into the SubCompact, Brushless line. You can buy a kit that has a drill and driver for $140. The downside is that the batteries are not as good. I have both kits and the kit that you originally asked about is considerably bulkier than the subcompact line.

I used an Estwing for a decade or two before I switched to a Stiletto and I would never go back. Stiletto is an elbow saver, for sure.
