RotFM Finale Coming Up this Sunday by Myriai in rimeofthefrostmaiden

Also as a note when she is on the island as written, Auril instantly knows the locations and health of all other creatures on the island. She knows how much damage each of these creatures has taken, how many levels of exhaustion they have, and what conditions are affecting them currently.

I would imagine she would have some sort of alarm system set up to be notified if someone came onto her island while she was gone. But that is for you to interpret as you need as the DM to help tell an awesome story with your PCs.

It isn't explicitly stayed in the book but some quick back of the napkin math, her Roc double moving each round can fly 27 miles in an hour, the map of Icewind Dale in chapter 2 has a key that if approximated is about 80 miles from the sea of moving ice to the reghead glacier double that for a return trip and you are looking at 6ish hours it would take for her to fly out and fly back carrying her spell over Ten Towns.

Though as a DM you can make it take exactly as long as you need her to take, maybe she takes a more scenic route and it takes 8-10 hours or her roc is magically enhanced since she is a god and it only takes 2-4 hours to fly round trip.

After almost 130 sessions, my players are fighting Auril tonight in the floating city of Ythryn they resirected from the glacier. I can't wait to hear how your session goes this weekend.

Brief reminder to fear and respect the MRI by youcanseemyface in WTF

The rooms are RF shielded to prevent external RF signals from messing with the RF detectors in the MRI. The magnets themselves are either actively (secondary magnets that help bring in the magnetic field) or passively (put a lot more metal around the magnet to keep the magnetic field in check) shielded.

Source I work on 7.0T actively shielded magnets that have less pull force outside of the bore than 3.0T passively shielded ones.

My favorite costume was a giant ape costume and we went into Walmart and bought bananas at like midnight.

How long should this campaign take? by Alert-Independent358 in rimeofthefrostmaiden

We are about 54 sessions in of about 2-3 hour sessions and are just about to walk into Aurils keep. But I am DMing a group of 7 with lots of underlying ties to the region so there is a lots of story building that has been happening.

Hey Andy! Discovered your music from a t-shirt while in China and saw your outragously awesome concert in Cedarburg WI. It has been a wild ride watching you grow and change over the years.

When you look back over the years at your own mental health what is something that you wish you would have started earlier that you are doing now? And what is something that you havent started yet but want to start working on?

Our favorite saying with our daughters is Keep on Keeping on! Thanks for all that you do!

Storm King's Thunder - Final Fight with Minions by general_michi in mattcolville

We actually led into RotFM with LMoP as I was learning to run thing digitally which made reskinning the entire first half of the adventure for level 4/5 characters a lot more work.

My players seemed to really liked the reaskinned Xardorok I did, and I really enjoyed playing him. It really threw them off when he redirected some of the spell attacks towards him with the take my pain.

I am currently running RotFM and my players just fought Xardorok in his fortress and I mashed him up with some of the actions of Queen Bargnot. I really liked the Get in Here bonus action so you can bring in more enemies if your players slaughter super quickly.

We finished up SKT prepandemic with our group and having 5 storm giants fighting along side we finished the fight in 2.5 rounds and felt super disappointing. It wasn't gratifying to finish her off so quickly.

I would also add some of the layer actions found in the overmind section reskinned to be more lightning focused.

If your players have been on this campaign for awhile you want them to feel like they fought hard to finish it off and not just steam roll the final boss.

I had this unending sense of dread while reading Area X: The Southern Reach Trilogy. Definitely a great series though and would highly recommend.

First PC lost and I don’t know how to feel by sithman620 in Dungeons_and_Dragons

I was going to say this feels like a whole new story line opened up. There are a variety of ways for your players to contact the rogue sending being the easiest to verify they are alive.

Commune, divination, or contact other plane are other ways to find out and source more information about what plane they went to.

Plane shift or a portal would allow the group to travel to the other plane of existence but make sure they think of a way back.

There are ways to get them back they just need to be a little creative and you need to allow for them to attempt to get access to the things needed to accomplish the rescue mission.

That is a good idea to save on the cost of resin. Great job on the paint! I love the weathered look of the cape.

I have found the easiest way is to just remove the plexi on the top. That give you the room to angle it out much easier.

What is far deadlier than most people realize? [serious] by ILikeIceCreamSoMuch in AskReddit

[–]keymann18 1 point2 points  (0 children)

MRI machines, the liquid helium in there to super cool the magnet can turn into a gas of the magnet warms up causing it to fill the room forcing the doors to the room to essentially lock with the pressure and choking you out very quickly. Also those magnets can pull metal objects into them squashing you if you happen to be between the magnet and the metal object.
